DT Serum, Primary Testing In Progress

True rolled his eyes.  "What I meant was I didn't have to deal with someone going through withdrawal.  As for my date, that's my business.  Or at least I thought it was."

Ashton raised his hands in defense. "I was just wondering. And I think the worst is over for now at least. I'm just glad Chris seems to be a little happier now."

"I'm glad, too, especially for your sake," True admitted.  "Do you need help getting him upstairs?"  He nodded to Chris, who appeared to have fallen asleep next to Bobo.

Ashton shrugged. "I'd just as soon hang out down here with him. He's happy with the puppy, so why move him right now?"

"Fair enough," True agreed.  "The puppy is happy to have him back."

"Oh my goodness yes." Ashton agreed as he watched Chris and Bobo cuddling.

"Speaking of that, how's Night?" True asked.  "I haven't seen him around much."

"He's been hiding in my closet half the time." Ashton said. "I don't think he liked Chris screaming and throwing a fit."

Ashton ignoring him didn't help, but True didn't voice that thought.  "No, I can't imagine he did.  Nobody did, but the cats even less so."

Ashton nodded. "Although I think things will be calming down and getting better now."

"Do you need anything to help that?" True asked.

Ashton pondered a moment. "The only thing I can think of is maybe gradually progressing Chris back into a normal diet?" He asked. "Either way though, thanks for all your help. I'm sorry if I or him was a big inconvenience."

True shrugged.  "It happens.  I'll talk to Shuni about the diet and look into what would be good to get him into good health."

Ashton nodded in thanks. "I need to do something really nice for Shu...." He thought aloud.

"Yes, you really do," True said significantly.  Then he moved back.  "You okay looking after these two for a bit?  I need to go check on something important."

Ashton nodded. "Yup. Do what you gotta do, and let me know if I can help with anything."

Upstairs, Layla woke up a bit, but remained happily cuddled with Lex and contented herself with admiring him.

"Thanks, will do," True said, rolling into his room and opening his laptop.  Had she responded?  Yes!  Grinning, he responded to the email.

Lex felt Layla stirring and opened his eyes, squinting at her.  "Awake?" he mumbled.

"No." Layla replied cheekily. "I'm not awake."

"Okay.  Sounds good," Lex said, stretching mightily.

Layla stared at Lex as he stretched, almost drooling over the rippling muscles. Oh yes, this was a wonderful thing to wake up too. She couldn't help herself from hugging Lex and kissing his cheek once he was done stretching. "You are by far the most sexy thing ever..."

Lex grumbled and made a face when she kissed him.  "You are so sappy you're sticky."  In truth, he didn't mind so much.  It was nice to have someone to wake up next to.  Well, someone a little different than his brother or best friend.

Layla made another face. "Fine. I won't be honest in the future, or I'll do other things to you." She half playfully threatened.

"Yeah, like what?" Lex asked, calling her bluff.

"Like this." Layla said and kissed him for just a couple of seconds in a very provocative way, just enough to taste. In her experience, it drove some men up a wall, but she would only want to kiss Lex like that now.

Lex was fully awake now.  He eyed her speculatively, not sure how to respond.  He settled for the cryptic response of, "That's some punishment.  Effective."  He sat up slowly, working the crick out of his neck.
