DT Serum, Primary Testing In Progress

Layla nodded and checked on Lex first, quietly entering Ashton's room.

Lex was talking calmly and quietly to Tramp.  Tramp was in tears, weeping about something or other.  Lex didn't even notice Layla come in.

Layla patiently waited for her turn, and tried to hear what they were saying, to ebb her growing curiosity.

"But it is so horrible!" Tramp cried, flinging himself forward into Lex's arms.  
Lex rolled his eyes heavenward as he patted Tramp's back.  "I know, I know, but it's going to be okay in the end."

Layla tilted her head quizzically, but decided Lex had it under control. He would find her if he needed her, Layla knew. So she quietly slipped out and lounged on the upstairs couch, picking up a book Kat had loaned her.

"I hurted the flllyyyy!" Tramp wailed.
"It's fine, Tramp, it didn't feel a thing," Lex attempted to comfort.

(Oh my goodness XD That made me laugh quite a bit for some reason.)

Layla shook her head as she heard and continued to read.

Downstairs, Ashton stirred, half waking up before sleep dragged him back down again.

Tramp noticed him stirring and smiled.  Softly, he began to sing a lullaby, easing Ashton's worry.  Time to sleep.

(Safe to assume you meant True instead of Tramp? XD)

Ashton sighed a little and fell back asleep. He was still incredibly tired, and his body forced the stubborn man back to sleep to recuperate a little bit.

True spent the two hours reading and singing softly, spending time fussing over Bobo a little then of course Treble.

Treble was purring loudly, glad her mobile bed was home again. So comfy and warm! She stood up to rub against True affectionately.

True chuckled and rubbed her ears.

She purred happily, kneading her little thorn sharp claws into True's leg in appreciation.

"Okay, okay, no claws," True warned, moving her paws.

Treble licked his hands, purring like a motorboat still. She was happy at the least.

"It's been about two hours," True told the kitten.  "I guess I could start getting ready, but I just know the instant I turn my back, something is going to happen."

Treble just kept purring happily. She looked up at True and mewed, which could have meant anything.

"You are very helpful," True said dryly.  He opted to go and brush his teeth, poking his head out often to check on Ashton and Bobo.  Bobo was asleep and didn't even stir.  Nothing happened, so True changed clothes then came back out to put on his shoes and comb his hair where he could watch his charges.

Layla came down a few minutes later to check on things. "How's it going down here?" She asked True.

"So far so good!" True told her cheerfully.  "Ashton is really, Really out of it."

"Poor guy." Layla said sympathetically. "Lex literally had to drag him down here and force him to take a nap too, if you can believe it. He is so insistent on taking care of Tramp..."

"That's what happens when people care about each other," True said softly.  "Now, then, I need to be going in a minute.  Do you need anything before I go?"

"Not that I can think of. I just want to check on Lex really quick again before you go is all." Layla said.

"Sure, go for it," True nodded.  "Make sure he isn't dead yet."

Layla smiled and rolled her eyes and slipped back upstairs. She quietly poked her head into Ashton's room. "Lex?" She called softly. "You still alive?"
