DT Serum, Primary Testing In Progress

Ashton stuck his tongue out at Lex. "It'd mean I could eat with everyone without raising eyebrows whenever someone outside our family comes over. And I might be able to make edible food if I know what the heck I'm making and can taste it."

"I have my doubts about that," Lex retorted.  "Just because you can taste don't mean you can taste."

Ashton grumbled. "Well, I could just taste Shuni's cooking then."

Lex paused.  "That would be worth it.  Okay, so what's the first thing you'd taste?"

Ashton thought for a moment. "Whatever Shuni decides to make that night."

"Helpful," Lex said dryly.  He started to take a step and almost fell.  He groaned softly and retreated back to the couch.  Sitting was good.

Layla was actually quicker and closer than Ashton. She caught Lex and helped steady him as he got back to the couch. 

"You okay, Lex?" Ashton asked. "Want me to grab the Doc?"

"I'm fine, just wobbly," Lex grumbled.  "Stop fussing.  A little fall won't hurt."

Ashton rolled his eyes playfully. "Says the guy who fell off of a roof." He teased. "Twice."

"I'm not on a roof now, am I?" Lex retorted, lounging on the couch.  "I'll just sit until the Doc chooses to grace us with his presence.:

Ashton laughed a bit and leaned against the desk while Layla sat in the desk chair. "How'd you sleep?" Ashton asked Lex.

"Decently," Lex decided.  "How about you?"

"What sleep?" Ashton snorted.

"When we get home, you'll sleep," Lex said.

"Probably." Ashton agreed with a sigh. "It's just hard for me to sleep here is all. I feel tense just at the thought of sleeping here."

"Like you're about to suffocate at any second," Lex agreed.  "I'm so done with this shi-."

Ashton nodded in agreement. "Exactly! I can't wait for you to be able to go home so we both can get out of here."

"What is Doc up to?" Lex asked, looking around.

"Probably looking at my blood through five different machines." Ashton said with a shudder.

"Want me to find him?" Layla offered.

"Sure, why not?" Lex shrugged.

Layla nodded and went out. Her limp was a bit less now. After several minutes, she returned with the good doctor, who sheepishly apologized for passing out in the lab unintentionally.

Lex narrowed his eyes at him.  "We all need to go home so we can all f-king Sleep!"

Gaster sighed. "That is true. Would you like me to check and see how you are recovering so we can all do just that?"

"Yes!" Lex exclaimed.  "Please!"

Gaster nodded. "All right, please follow me. I just want to test your reaction time and check the incision site under better light please." His mouth quirked into a tired smile. "And if you do good, I may buy ice cream for you on the way home." He half joked.
