DT Serum, Primary Testing In Progress

"Not that." Layla smiled thoughtfully. "I can't remember having someplace I wanted to call 'home' before now."

"Wonder what he's talking about, and who to." Ashton said in a low tone. "Sounds really serious."

Lex glanced at her, his expression softening.  "Me neither," he admitted.  "Not before here."

"He's musically inclined, right?  Maybe he's talking about a contract or something, or an agent?" Chris suggested.

Layla smiled happily at Lex. "So... thanks for giving me a home is what I was really trying to say. And for carrying my bags."

Ashton shrugged. "Maybe? I don't know how those things work...."

"Thank you for accepting," Lex said simply.  He smiled briefly at her before returning to his guarded start.

"I've heard a few conversations like that.  It's that or he's talking to a lawyer about some kind of trouble.  Has he been in any trouble?" Chris asked.

Layla smiled cheerfully all the way home. 

"Not that I know of." Ashton said honestly. "As far as I know, he is an outstanding guy."

"Can you get the door for me?" Lex asked when they reached the house.

Chris turned to look at True as he ended the call.  "Then I got nothing."

Layla nodded and opened the door gladly. She smiled and waved at True.

"Hey True!" Ashton asked when he realized his brother was off the phone. "When was the last time you are anything?"

"High, L and L," True said before turning to Ashton.  "Uh....."

Ashton rolled his eyes. "Come in here. There's leftover lasagna that Geena made last night for you. Want me to heat it up?"

"Uh, sure," True said sheepishly, rolling into the kitchen.
"I'm going to go check on Bobo," Chris said, heading out.

Ashton nodded to Chris. "Holler if you need anything." He said to Chris before turning his attentions back to True. "Made Geena worry." He said as he heated the lasagna in the microwave. "Who were you on the phone with anyway?"

"Sorry, I didn't mean to make her or you worry," True said, not answering the question.

Ashton frowned. He silently handed True his plate. "Just remember we all worry about you just a bit." He said after a moment before he went to see what Lex was up to.

True sighed, rubbing his eyes.  He didn't know what do about that.  He couldn't tell them yet.   Later.

Lex was helping Layla sort through her stuff on his bed.

"Need any help?" Ashton offered. 
"I think we got it." Layla smiled at Ashton in thanks.

"What she said.  I guess," Lex said.

Ashton nodded a bit. He hesitated in the doorway. "When you're done Lex, can we talk on the roof?" He asked.

"Sure."  Lex looked at Layla.  "Need anything else?"

Layla shook her head. "Not right now." She smiled and kissed Lex's cheek.

"Give me a yell if you need anything."  Lex headed to the window and climbed onto the roof.

"Will do!" Layla told him.

Ashton was already sitting down. He fidgeted as he waited, and nodded a greeting to Lex.

"What's wrong?" Lex asked, hoping it wouldn't be a relationship talk.

"I'm worried about True." Ashton told him bluntly. "When Chris and I got home, he was on the phone about something that sounded serious, and needed signing. I also heard he was on the phone last night, presumably with the same person, and he's been super secretive about it. And it's too the point I had to remind him to eat, and I can guess he was on the phone a long time before we got back. His phone was plugged into the wall while he was talking when Chris, Sam and I got back. I'm just worried. Didn't help my paranoia when Chris suggested it could have been a lawer he was talking to."

Lex grunted as he sat down.  Well, that was a relief.  "Did you ask him about it?"

"Yeah.... he completely dodged the question." Ashton sighed.
