DT Serum, Primary Testing In Progress

Lex slept clean through the night, only stirring if Layla did but never fully waking.  He had finally reached that healing depth of sleep his body needed so badly.

Layla didn't really stir, other than possibly cuddling occasionally in her sleep. For once, she slept deeply, and without any nightmares plaguing her.

Lex finally woke the next morning a bit stiff from his immobile position all night, but otherwise feeling more refreshed than he had in a long time.

Layla was still asleep, cuddled against Lex and sleeping peacefully. Gaster had been there earlier, as evidence was that there was breakfast for both Lex and Layla, each one labeled, with Lex's having an attached note as well as the label.

Lex studied the trays of food.  Hmmm, they were just out of his reach, and if he stretched, he might wake up Layla.  But... he was hungry!

Layla woke up after several more minutes and smiled at Lex. "Morning." She said dreamily, yawning off the last dregs of sleep.

"Morning," Lex grunted.  "Hungry?  The doc left food."

Layla nodded and moved so she wasn't laying on top of Lex anymore. "Sorry. I hadn't meant to fall asleep on you like that."

"That's alright," Lex shrugged, carefully sitting upright.  He finally reached his tray and pulled off his note, unfolding it to read it.

In Gaster's scrawling writing, it basically just said that the tests were successful, and that all Lex would need to take is one pill of Omega 3 and one of Vitamin C each morning, and to use them as a first priority if his headaches start to return. It also requested that Lex ask him if he has any questions or concerns.

Layla looked over her food and smiled. Still warm scrambled eggs and toast with butter and strawberry jam. Lex's was the same, with the exception being two pills on his tray, one being an off white and the other more red in hue.

Lex cautiously picked up the pills and studied them suspiciously.  After a moment, he shrugged.  Eh, he'd had worse.  How bad could this be in comparison?  He picked up his cup of juice and saluted Layla.  "Bottoms up!"  He swallowed the pills deftly.

Layla smiled and saluted him back before she drank her own juice. "It's really kinda cool that those are the needed cure." She commented offhandedly. "You can get those in the store without needing any kind of doctor slip."

"Really?" Lex said in surprise.  "Didn't know that.  You can just walk in and buy this stuff?"

Layla nodded. "Mm-hm. Some people just  buy it because they don't get enough anyway. There's a whole section in grocery stores for vitamins and stuff."

"Huh," Lex said.  Then dug into his food and didn't speak again until it was gone.

Layla ate all of her food and stretched a little, carefully. "So.... what to do today?"

Lex shrugged.  "Wait until the Doc gets back and see what he says?  Maybe go home.  That'd be nice."

Layla smiled. "That would be nice. It is starting to feel a little suffocating in here."

"Yeah," Lex said, leaving it at that.  Where was Ashton?  Lex wanted him there in case Gaster said they could go home.

Layla collected their dishes and offered to put them in the breakroom sink for later.

Lex struggled to his feet when Layla left and stood wobbly knees.  He felt weak and uncertain on his feet, but his head didn't hurt so much.

After a while, Layla returned, with Ashton behind her. He seemed a bit uptight, but managed a smile at Lex. "Morning."

Lex instantly relaxed when he saw Ashton.  "Sup?"

"Well.... Doc convinced me to give him a blood sample." Ashton reported. "Said he'd try to come up with something that might let me eat regular food again."

"You mean you won't be unique anymore?  How dull," Lex smirked then caught the edge of the desk to keep his balance.
