DT Serum, Primary Testing In Progress

Shuni studied Ashton then went over to hug him.  "You should sleep."

True groaned as he woke then winced and hissed softly.  "Ow."

Ashton shook his head. "I'm fine. Just need to wake up more is all." He said, brushing the subject off.

"Easy..." Gaster urged. "I'll bring you breakfast. Do you want some pain killers?"

Shuni nodded slightly then hugged Ashton again.  "It will be okay.  Do you want to watch clouds today?"

True bit his lip, wincing.  "I think so.  Back hurts.  I think I pushed it too much."

Ashton shrugged. "Fine by me. Wanna join us today, Lex?"

Gaster nodded. "Take today to rest then. I have to go to work and sit through a couple of meetings, but I can see if I can come home early if you want company."

Lex shrugged.  "Sure, why not?  I can wander by for a bit."

True smiled tightly.  "It's okay.  I'll call Kat and see if she can come by."

Ashton nodded and finished his breakfast, gathering everyone's dishes as they got done to wash.

Gaster nodded. "All right. Call if you need anything." He said before he left and returned with True's breakfast along with a glass of water and the bottle of pain killers.

Shuni helped as best he could before helping Paul get his stuff for school, Bitty Kitty following Paul's every step.

"Thanks, Dad," True said.  "Tell Paul I'm sorry I can't walk with him today."

Paul chattered with Shuni as he got ready.

Gaster nodded. "Take it easy." He reiterated before joining everyone else and making sure the kids were ready to go.

"Are we ready?" Lex asked, herding everyone toward the door.

Gaster nodded and opened the door. Paul tried to hold Lex's hand as they walked, and Sam chatted with Shuni.

Lex looked down at Paul awkwardly but let him hold his hand.  Okay then...

Paul seemed happy, and the little kid talked with Lex as they walked.

Lex gave Ashton an almost desperate look.  What was he supposed to do??

Ashton made a gesture to talk to Paul. He was a good friend, and while he would guide Lex through most situations, he was internally laughing some at his friend's awkwardness in this situation.

"That's nice," Lex tried vaguely.  "That must be... fun."

Paul smiled. "Do you draw or art, Lex?" Paul asked.

"No, not really.  I just kind of design rooms sometimes," Lex said carefully.

"I can teach you!" Paul offered excitedly.

"Uh, no, thanks, I'm good," Lex said.

Paul looked a little saddened at the refusal, but quickly smiled and started to chatter again.

Lex kind of patted his head and moved on.  When they reached the school, he said, "You know what you should make?"

"What?" Paul asked excitedly. He beamed up at Lex.

Lex leaned down as though telling him a secret.  "You should make Ashton a super awesome picture.  He's jealous of mine."

Paul's eyes widened in worry. He hadn't thought he would make Ashton jealous by giving Lex a picture! He nodded earnestly. "Okay!"

Lex chuckled and patted Paul's shoulder.  "You have too much talent for your own good, kid.  Now go have fun at school."
