DT Serum, Primary Testing In Progress

"Okay," Chris said, gingerly putting the last dish in the drainer.  "There!  Done?"

Ashton nodded. "Yup. Lets get going now if Paul's to get to school on time?"

"Yes, sorry.  Are you sure it's okay that I come along?" Chris asked worriedly.
"It will be good for you to get out, Chris.  Don't forget your coat," Geena said, shrugging into her own coat.

Ashton smiled. "Besides, it can be fun." He said as he handed Chris a coat.

"Okay," Chris agreed doubtfully as he put on his coat and followed.
Shuni smiled at Ashton and hopefully held up his hand.

Ashton smiled. He gladly held his brothers hand and offered his other to Chris as they walked.

Chris smiled but shook his head, pushing his hands into his pockets.
Shuni took Paul's other hand, happy once more.  Maybe things could work out.
"Come on, everyone, time to go," Geena urged, ushering them all out the door.

Paul cheerfully held Shuni and Geenas hands, chattering as they walked. Ashton kept half an eye on Chris, but also on Shuni. He wanted both to be happy.

Layla held Lexs hand, smiling. "Its good to have them back." She commented as she saw how happy Gaster and Geena looked.

Chris stayed close to Ashton, watching his surroundings nervously.

Lex watched the group.  "Yeah, it is.  All of the family together."

Ashton tried to include Chris on the conversations as they happened, trying to make him feel like he belonged more.

Layla nodded. "Wonder what happened to make True so wiped out. He's been dead to the world since before we got back..."

Chris smiled and nodded, occasionally saying some agreement, but he seemed more than content to keep to the background.  He was watching and learning.  He'd never really been around a truly good family.  It was... beautiful.

Lex shrugged.  "He went to bed early from his last gig, but last night I heard him talking on the phone a bunch.  Not sure what's up."

"Wonder if he was on the phone with Kat." Ashton mused
"His eyes do go all heart shaped when he sees her." Layla giggled.

"I don't think so.  He has that weird tone when he talks to her, and he sounded all businessy when he was talking last night," Lex replied.
"Why does he have heart eyes?  Doesn't that hurt?" Shuni asked worriedly.

"Huh...." Ashton pondered.
"Not literally." Layla explained. "What I meant by that is you can tell in his eyes he loves Kat just by the way he looks at her."

"Oh, okay!  Like how Daddy looks at Mommy or Paul looks at Mommy or Sam looks at Lex or Lex looks at Layla or Ashton looks at Chris and Chris looks at Bobo?" Shuni rambled happily.
Chris stumbled and caught himself.  "Sorry.  Tripped," he mumbled.

Ashtons face flushed as he was called out. Layla considered that for a moment, deciphering it all. "Yes." She confirmed. "Pretty well just like that."

"Cool!" Shuni grinned.  "That is much better."

Layla laughed a bit. They reached the school, and Paul gave everyone a big bear hug, even Chris.

Chris stared down at Paul, shocked, then smiled and hugged him back.  "Thank you.  I hope you have fun today."
"Say hello to your friend for me," Geena smiled.

"I will!" Paul chirped at Geena and Chris before he raced off to join Ariel.

Ashton grinned. "He is a cute kid...."

"Yes, he is," Geena smiled, glancing at Gaster.
"So, are you two going to have any more, or are you good with what you got?" Chris threw out.

Gaster's eyebrows went up and he looked at Geena questioningly. They hadn't told the children yet still, but he wanted her to make sure she was ready to share the information.

"We'll have to see how things go," Geena repled calmly.
"Cool.  We're off.  See you lot later when you're done with baby chats," Lex grunted before turning and gesturing to Layla.
Shuni looked up at Gaster.  "Time to go to the lab?"

Layla smiled and waved bye, and thenled Lex to where she still had a small apartment in a seedy part of town.

Gaster nodded. "Yes. Ready to go?" He asked Shuni.

"You aren't behind in the rent or anything, are you?" Lex asked, glancing up at the apartment building.

"Yes!" Shuni agreed eagerly, taking his hand. 
"I'll come with you for a couple of hours to get the papers in order," Geena said.  "Sam?  Are you going home with Ashton and Chris?"
