DT Serum, Primary Testing In Progress

"Perfect," Lex nodded.  He hesitated then said, "Thinking of that gave me this idea... what if we..."  He shook his head.  "Nah.  Forget it.  It's a stupid idea."

Ashton gave Lex a look. "Now I wanna know. Spill."

Lex rubbed the back of his neck.  "Maybe we could... be detectives."

Ashton smiled. "That actually sounds really, really cool. I never thought of that before."

Lex looked at him, startled but pleased.  "Yeah?  I figure we have the skills for it."

"Definitely." Ashton nodded. "And since we've been on their level, we would know exactly what to look for, yeah?" The though actually made him feel a little bit excited.

"Yeah," Lex grinned.  "We can pick some up for the cash, and some we do because, well, we ain't what we used to be, yeah?"

Ashton laughed a little. "So basically, we went from dodging cops to helping where cops have trouble?"

"Yep.  Where the cops can't cause they have to follow rules," Lex smirked.

Ashton laughed a bit. "Wouldn't it be zany, if in a weird twist of things, the cops actually start hiring us?"

"That would be hysterical, but I don't see it happening," Lex chuckled.

Ashton still smiled at the thought. Lex had unknowingly made his day with the suggestion of them becoming detectives.

Lex shook his head and gave Ashton a playful shove.  "Go rescue Lays from Tramp, yeah?"

"Fine. I'll be her hero then, and look better than you." Ashton teased his best friend as he went inside.

"You wish," Lex drawled, following him.

Chris had his full attention on the honied spoon, delicately licking the honey off.

Layla was in the living room, reading a book about legends and folk stories from across the world.

Ashtn stood in the doorway and watched Chris for a few moments.

Lex stood next to Layla and looked down.  "Sup?"

Chris lifted the spoon and turned his head under it, sticking out his tongue to catch a drip on his tongue.

Layla smiled up at him. She wasn't wearing a too suggestive shirt, but Lex still was at a good angle never the less. "Why hello. I was reading a tale about wolves."

"What's honey like?" Ashton asked curiously. "I don't remember ever trying it."

"Yeah?  Like, what, them hunting stuff and eating it?" Lex asked, glancing at the view offered but not making a big deal of it.

"Mm!"  Chris tried to clean his face a bit.  "Incredibly sweet and sticky.  It's good, but it makes such a mess!"

Layla smiled. "A bit. The story is about a man who was turned into a wolf by an enchantress so he could learn lessons only the wolves could teach him."

Ashton sat beside him. "And, ah, what does sweet taste like." He looked down, his cheeks pink. "Sorry. If I knew, I've long since forgotten..."

Lex frowned.  "What kind of lessons could wolves teach a guy?"

Chris tipped his head, running his tongue over his sticky lips.  "Well.... Sweet tastes like this."  He leaned over, capturing Ashton's head with one hand lightly and pulling him into a kiss.

"Well, the current lesson this pack is teaching is how to live with his enviornment, and reading what needs done where, and where needs left alone." Layla explained.

Ashton was caught off guard by the random kiss. Soon enough however, he relaxed and kissed Chris back. He could get used to this.

Lex stared at Layla blankly.  "I don't get it," he finally admitted.  "Dumb it down for me?"

Chriss deepened the kiss, letting Ashton taste his lips, touching his tongue against Ashton's lower lip briefly.  Gently, he drew away, ending the kiss but staying close.  "Understand?" he whispered, a mischevious glint in his eyes.

Layla scooted over to make room for Lex on the couch. "The man originally was kind of a as--le, and took and destroyed for his own personal gain. The wolves are teaching him that you have to think more about your surroundings. You do this, that happens. They are teaching him to figure out what to do where to cause the least damage and the most good."

"Mm?" Ashton asked. He thought the kiss ended woefully too soon. "Not well enough..." He tried.

"Now that makes sense," Lex nodded.  "How's he doing so far?"

Chris grinned.  "Well, then, we'll just have to try again!"  He closed the space between them once more, moving his lips softly against Ashton's.  He let Ashton chose when to end the kiss this time.
