DT Serum, Primary Testing In Progress

Night seemed to smile, attempting his weird little purr.  

(I got nothing...)

The next morning, Kat woke early and watched True sleep contently, and Ashton was whimpering and tossing and turning. The guy was having another nightmare.

True cracked an eye open.  "Morning," he said with a sleepy smile.

Lex woke and glared at Ashton.  Yawning, he went over and rescued Night before the kitten fell then stretched out on the couch next to Ashton.  He wrapped his arms around the slightly smaller guy and held him firmly, Ashton's back to his front.

Kat smiled and kissed him softly. "Morning."

Ashton continued to whimper and shake like a leaf. He was sweating some as he twitched. This was one of the worse nightmares.

"Mm, it is either a dream or a very good morning!" True murmured, closing his eyes with a smile.

"Hey, hey, come on, kid," Lex murmured tiredly in his ear.  "I got you.  To hell with anyone who'll take you away.  I got you, and I ain't letting go."

Kat chuckled and kissed him softly again.

Ashton slowly relaxed into a normal sleep. Even when not in the waking world, he needed Lex.

"dream," True decided.  Reality doesn't taste this sweat and wonderful."

"Good boy," Lex mumbled, falling back to sleep, his nose buried in the back of Ashton's neck.

Kat just continued to kiss her boyfriend happily and gently.

Ashton slept peacefully the rest of the time.

Gaster went to start breakfast. He saw Ashton and Lex on the couch but paid it no mind. There was likely a logical explanation that he didn't know yet. He made chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast.

When True heard Faster get up, he nudged Kat gently.  "I don't want to get walked in on again," he said a touch sheepishly.

Shuni followed Faster out, studying Ashton and Lex in a puzzled way.  Maybe tonight he'd offer to let them sleep in his room.  There was more room in his bed.

Kat blushed a deep red. "Yeah... let's avoid that if possible."

Gaster quietly asked Shuni if he wanted to help make the pancake batter.

True smiled and snuck in one last kiss.  "Why don't you sit at the table today?  I'll be fine, promise.  It's about time one of us got out of this room."

"Why do they sleep on the tiny bed together?" Shuni asked.  "Why not on a bigger bed?  Or separate like usual?"

"Are you sure?" Kat asked. She didn't want True to feel he had to eat alone.

Gaster glanced at Lex and Ashton again. "I do not know. You may ask them if you really want. After they get up."

"I'm sure," True said firmly.  He touched her cheek.  "You should get out, see the sunshine, then bring it back to me in your smile."

Shuni considered.  "I will ask Ashton.  Lex is always grouchy.  More so now his head hurts."

Kat blushed a little. "I could just open the blinds to your window and let the sunshine in..." She said.

Gaster nodded. As he was reminded of Lex's headaches, he pondered again what the cause of it may be.

"It's not the same," True smiled.  "Go ahead and go out.  Please?  For me."

Lex shifted, grumbling softly as he started to wake, still holding Ashton tight.

Kat smiled and kissed his cheek. "All right. I'll head out after breakfast."

Ashton was still sound asleep. He would be sleeping for a while, having finally fallen into a decent sleep.

True grinned, returning her kiss.  "Thank you."

Lex sat up slowly, trying to wake up more.  And found himself being stared at by the entire cat clan and Shuni.  "Uh, yes?"

Kat smiled. "I'm going to see if I can help with breakfast." She said as she got up. "You need anything?"

"Shuni, it's rude to stare." Gaster called from the kitchen. "Do you want to get Sam and Paul up?"

"I'm good, thanks," True smiled at her.  "Enjoy!"

"Okay!" Shuni cried and scampered off to wake his brothers.

Sam was cuddled up with Lynx, and Paul was sprawled out over the bed.

Kat smiled and kissed True as she left.

Lex shook his head and winced.  Ow.  No head shaking.  Carefully he stood and stretched.  "Morning," he mumbled to Gaster.

Shuni crawled up onto Sam's bed and gave him a big hug.  "Good morning!"

Gaster nodded to him. "Morning, Lex. Sleep well?"

Sam was confused at first, but smiled and hugged Shuni back. "Morning, Shuni!"

"Nope," Lex replied bluntly.  "Need some help?"

"Are you ready for breakfast?" Shuni asked Sam, smiling happily.
