DT Serum, Primary Testing In Progress

"Thank you," Geena smiled.  "I'll stay here for a little longer.  You go enjoy breakfast."

Gaster nodded. "I'll keep some breakfast warm in the oven for you two." He said.

"Thank you, dear," Geena smiled.

Shuni had finished eating and was starting to clean up.  Chris started to help awkwardly.  Shuni asked Layla, "Where is Lex?  He is not hungry?"

Gaster stepped outside to make the phone call.

Layla smiled. "Lex was tired and wanted to sleep more."

"Like True and Kat and Paul?" Shuni asked, frowning.

"Yes." Layla said. "Kat and True I think got home really late last night. It was at least well after Lex and I went to bed."

"Why is Paul sleeping in?" Shuni asked.

"He needed a mom day." Gaster answered as he walked in. "Geena said to go ahead and enjoy breakfast without them. I am still heading in to work, if you want to come with Shuni."

Shuni thought about this then turned to Ashton.  "What are you doing today?"

Ashton shrugged. "Nothing yet." He thought. "Maybe you, me, Chris, and Bobo can go to the park?" He suggested.

Shuni's eyes grew huge.  "Can we really?" he almost whispered.

Ashton smiled. "I don't see why not." He looked over at Chris for his opinion on the matter.

"Sure, that sounds like fun," Chris agreed slowly.  He wasn't a fan of parks, bad memories, but then again he'd always been alone and often at night.
Shuni let out a cheer and lunged forward to hug Chris.  Chris froze at the embrace and looked to Ashton.  What did he do now??

Ashton made a silent gesture for Chris to hug Shuni back and gave him an encouraging smile. He would have to explain later that Shuni was a huggy person, and liked getting hugged back.

Chris awkwardly hugged him back, patting his shoulder.  "I'm glad you're excited."
"I need to get dressed!" Shuni declared, making a mad dash for his room.

Ashton smiled. "Sorry. He's, ah, very huggy. If you hug him back, it usually makes him happy." Ashton paused. "He also likes to cuddle. And hold hands. I blame myself for that. I was the only one who cared for him in our old home, and I abandoned him. I think since then, he's liked knowing when someone is there for him and will be there for him."

"Ah, I see.  That makes sense," Chris chuckled.  "I can do huggy, I'm just not used to it."

Ashton smiled more. He felt optimistic his crush and his brother would get along well now. He gathered up the dishes for Layla before he grabbed his jacket. "I'm going to tell Geena where we're going."

Shuni came out, pulling his cat-ear hat on.  Chris tipped his head and struck up a conversation about the hat.  Shuni was still shy, but only too happy to show off his prize possession.

Geena had actually dozed off, holding Paul comfortably in her lap, but she opened her eyes when Ashton came in.  "Hello, Ashton," she said with a smile.

Ashton smiled. "Shuni, Chris, and I are heading to the park." He told her softly. "I'll have my phone if you need us."

Geena nodded.  "Thank you for letting me know.  Will anyone be left behind?  What with you three leaving and William off to work."

"Lex and Layla will still be around." He answered. "Layla is cleaning up the kitchen, and last I heard Lex was sleeping, and Sam was going with Doctor Dad to help at the lab."

"Will you thank Layla for me?" Geena smiled.  "I hope you have fun.  And tell William he had better come tell me goodbye before he leaves!"

Ashton smiled. "Will do." He gladly passed on Geena's messages before he met Chris and Shuni at the door.

Paul snuggled into Geena as he slept again.

"Are we ready to go?" Chris asked, bundled up in a parka and clearly enjoying the big, poofy coat.

True yawned as he slowly woke the second time.
