DT Serum, Primary Testing In Progress

"We'll give it a day.  If he won't talk about it by then, I'll talk to him about it," Lex promised.

Ashton nodded. That made him feel a bit better. "Sorry. Probably it's nothing bad, and I am probably being paranoid, huh?"

"Probably, but you never know," Lex shrugged.  "Good catch.  What else you got?"

Ashton thiught for a moment. "Not much interesting. So... how are you and Layla doing? Saw she's moving into your room."

Lex shrugged.  "She needed an actual room, and I thought I'd see how this goes.  Nothing too fast.  Testing.  Know what I mean?"

Ashton smiled and nodded. "I think she'll be a good roommate for you."

"Not as awesome as you, but maybe more fun," Lex smirked at him.  "I noticed Chris hasn't moved out of your room."

Ashton laughed. "And why do you point that out? Is that a bad thing?"

"Why did you point out Lays moving into my room?" Lex shot back.

"Trying to make conversation, you dufus." Ashton rolled his eyes. "I realized we don't hang out quite as much as we used to up here. Trying to savor the moment, unless you already replaced me with Layla." He teased.

Lex tipped his head, considering that.  "Nah.  She's not a great second in command like you.  So, do you want to go out tomorrow and look for trouble?"

"Sure." Ashton smiled. "But weren't we gonna do that thing for that one kid tonight first?"

"If you're up for it," Lex said.  "I'll let Lays know we're leaving and put her in charge."

"So she's third in command?" Ashton teased. "And of course I am."

"I dunno.  Tied with True, I guess," Lex shrugged.  "Ready to go?"

Ashton laughed. "Ready when you are, old man." He teased his best friend.

"Know what's old?  That joke," Lex drawled, smacking the back of Ashton's head gently before hopping back inside.  "Lays?"

Ashton laughed and went in through another upstairs window. He went to find Chris to update him on the events of tonight.

Layla smiled at him. "Yeah, Lex?"

Chris was working with Bobo, helping him grow stronger by walking around the livingroom.

"Ash and I are going out to take care of some business.  Not sure when we'll be back," Lex told her.

Ashton smiled and watched for a moment. "Hey, Chris?" He asked.

Layla smiled. "All right. Just be safe, okay?"

"What's up?" Chris asked, looking up from his fluffy dog.

"You sure are bossy.  Fine," Lex grumbled, stealing a quick kiss before heading downstairs.

"Lex and I are heading out here soon to go do a thing. We'll be back later." Ashton told him.

Layla giggled and happily kissed him back. "Hey, if it makes you feel any better, I'll keep the bed warm for you."

"Oh.  Okay.  You'll be safe, right?" Chris asked worriedly.

"Only a little bit," Lex called over his shoulder.  "Ash!  Ready to go?"

Ashton nodded. "Of course I will. Lex will be there, and we will look after each other." He assured Chris. "Yeah!" Ashton called back to Lex and went to meet him.

"Okay," Chris said softly then turned back to Bobo.  "Okay."

Lex grabbed his coat and walked out.  "Depending on how long it takes us to find the kid, we might not be back in time to walk Paul home from school."
