DT Serum, Primary Testing In Progress

Lex rolled his eyes.  "Yes, because you did it all for us.  Thank you so much for your selfless sacrifice."

True was exhausted and dripping sweat.  He physically could not do any more, but his eyes shone with a new light.

"Aw, see? Was that so hard? Your welcome." Ashton told Lex with a wicked grin. Layla laughed some as she watched their antics.

Kat kissed his cheek anyway, proud of him. Gaster came in and asked if True was ready to head home, and Kat offered to push True.

"You're an ars," Lex said in a flat tone.

"Yes, please," True said tiredly, his muscles trembling.  "I need a shower.  Tell Paul sorry I didn't walk him home?"

Ashton just smiled sweetly and innocently. "But you still love me anyway."

Kat smiled and Gaster nodded kindly. "I am sure he will understand."

"I have my doubts sometimes," Lex drawled to Layla.

"Thanks," True said with a weak smile, barely able to keep himself upright in his chair any longer.

Layla laughed some. "I think you two are amusing when you bicker like that."

Kat smiled and started to push True home. "You really pushed yourself today." She said appreciatively.

Lex looked at Ashton.  "If she considers that bickering, we might lose her when we really start to fight."

True mumbled something tiredly, appreciating the fact that she'd noticed, but too tired to do anything about it.

Ashton laughed wickedly at that, while Layla raised an eyebrow. "Oh?"

Kat smiled and started to head home. She was so happy for him, and was so glad he seemed determined about this.

Lex just smirked at her and went to the door, opening it right when Kat got to the door.  "Hey, Kitty.  Lump.  How'd it go?"
"Everything hurts," True moaned happily.

Kat smiled. "True made great progress today. He can contract the muscles in his legs now, which Gaster said was key to starting to build control and muscles to stand." She told True's brother, proudly.

"Nice going, kid," Lex approved, helping them in.  "And you stink."
"You stink," True shot back.
"And you're a stinker.  Need help in the shower?" Lex asked.
"Nope."
Lex eyed his shaking arms.  "It's me or your girlfriend, mate."

Kat turned red at the thought. She loved True, but that hadn't gotten that... personal, yet. 

Layla sighed a little. "Ah, True, is it? Let Lex help you. I feel your girlfriend would be awkward about it, seeing as you haven't gotten that intimate yet." She advised. "And seeing how tired you are, you may fall asleep in the shower without help."

True stuck his tongue out at Lex then told Layla, "I know!  He was kidding about Kat.  Right?"
"Yep.  Because I know you'd back down."  Lex scooped True up and nodded to Kat.  "Kat, Layla, Layla, KittyKat.  Don't fight over Ashton while I'm gone."
"Why do you always have to make things awkward?" True mumbled as Lex carried him to his shower.
"Because seeing people's expressions is hilarious," Lex replied calmly.

The girls nodded greetings. Kat sat down and the two girls started to chat. The girl talk soon drove Ashton upstairs, saving the kitten Night by taking him with him.

Night climbed up onto Ashton's shoulder and clung there, enjoying the view.  When Ashton stilled, he curled up next to Ashton's neck and fell asleep, purring softly.

Lex came out a good time later, shirtless, his jeans and hair a bit damp.  His wet shirt he carried over one arm.  "He's all yours, Kit Kat.  Tucked up in bed and sound asleep."

Layla swallowed and couldn't help but stare at Lex, wide eyed. Kat giggled a little and thanked Lex before she left with the excuse she wanted to be there in case True woke up and needed something.

Night swore softly and affectionately to Night and just got out a book to read, sitting on the couch upstairs.

(Night can swear?  Such a young thing to be swearing!)

Lex saluted Kat as she left and glanced at Layla.  What was her problem?  Girl talk must be shocking when boys weren't around to hear.  "Going up to get a dry shirt.  Need anything?"

Night shook his head and scratched an itch then settled down with a little kitten sigh.

(Shush! You know I meant Ashton lol XP)

Layla couldn't help but stare for a few moments as she processed the question. "Um, yes. No! Uh, uh, ummm...."

Lex hesitated, giving her an odd look.  "Okay.... Back in a minute, then."  He turned and headed upstairs, every well-formed muscle rippling as he moved.

Layla buried her face in her hands after he left. What was wrong with her?!

Lex changed into a sleeveless black shirt, hanging the wet one to dry before going back downstairs and getting his soda again.  He took a drink then winced.  "Warm and flat.  Blah."

Layla looked at Lex and swallowed some before she looked back down. Her Sprite was long gone, so she pet Hugs with a shaking hand, although withdrawal wasn't the only thing making it shake now.

Hugs looked up at her and gave her a genuine cat smile as he yawned and stretched.  Good human!  Shaky, frail human, but he'd look after the silly little kitten.
"The doc and the others should be getting home soon," Lex told Layla as he emptied the soda in the sink and tossed the can.

Layla nodded and swallowed. "O-okay." She busied herself with petting the cat, and tried not to think about Lex's solid and strong body... Her cheeks turned pink at the thought.

Lex frowned at Layla.  "You're looking flushed.  Got a fever?"
