DT Serum, Primary Testing In Progress

"Oh joy." Ashton said dryly. "And yeah, I'll keep an ear out and low to the streets for ya."

Echo stormed off. Once she was away from everyone, she let herself cry a little angrily. It had hurt some to hear Tramp suggest that. Granted, he didn't know part of why it hurt her, but she also thought they had more respect for each other than that.

"Good."  Lex flopped down in his chair, glaring moodily at the girl.  "Looks like my time is spoken for for now.

Ashton sighed a little. "I'm going back to bed then..." he said as he turned to go. "Night, Lex."

"Night," Lex muttered.
"Mew!" Night replied.

Ashton smiled a little at the kitten and laid back down on his bed, with Night on his chest again.

A few hours later, Layla winced some as she slowly woke up. Her head hurt something terrible.

Lex stretched out on a chair, snoring softly, only a few feet from Layla.

Layla looked around in confusion, not knowing where she was or how she got there. The last thing she remembered was going into a very different apartment and getting hit up with a drug. She slowly sat up to try and get a better grasp, but had to stop several times due to her poundingg head and spurts of dizziness. She moaned a little softly.

Lex opened one eye.  "You're awake.  How sober are you?"

Layla looked at Lex blearily and a little warily. She stayed quiet, as she had no reason to trust him yet.

Lex picked up one of the waters and took a sip before holding it out to her.  "Here.  It's clean, and you need it."

Layla hesitantly took the water and sipped it. The tasteless liquid made her empty stomach roil, but she managed to take a few more sips. She still had no real reason to trust this random guy yet.

"Think you can eat something?" Lex asked.

"Who are you?" Layla asked instead of answering. "And where am I?"

"Lex," he answered.  "You're at my house that I share with th- my dad and a handful of brothers.  And a bucketful of cats, so I hope you're not allergic."

"No, I'm not allergic..." Layla murmured. "Still haven't answered why I'm here, or how I got here."

"I carried you here because you were unconscious on a nasty drug that's rapidly driving people the not so fun kind of crazy and I didn't want you dying," Lex replied.  "Now will you tell me if you're hungry?"

"No, I'm not hungry, and why do you care?" Layla snipped a little. Her head was swimming and throbbing at the same time, and she felt sick.

Lex shrugged.  "I don't like seeing people die.  Especially from drugs.  Do you want me to get you a bucket?"

Layla was about to say something, but quickly covered her mouth and gave a barely noticeable nod. When Lex returned with the bucket, Layla used it, emptying her already empty stomach of the water and some bile.

Lex fetched a warm, wet cloth and waited patiently for her to finish before handing her the cloth.  "Laying still will help for a bit.  Try to get water down you, if you can."

Layla nodded a little and obeyed his instruction. She managed to get a few more sips of water swallowed before she laid down and whimpered softly. She couldn't remember the last time her head hurt so much. it must have been stronger than normal this time.

"Do you know what the stuff is called?" Lex asked after letting her lay in silence for a while.

"I think he called it Hex." Layla whimpered. "It was something new he came up with."

Lex grunted sourly.  "Not exactly a drug fan, even when I was a user, but that shi- is just.... powdered hell.  No one should deal that."

"You... did drugs?" Layla asked in surprise, although she stayed where she was for now.
