DT Serum, Primary Testing In Progress

Ashton kept muttering to the kitten as he ate. once Night was done eating, Ashton gave the kitten all the attention he deserved.

Night ended up under Ashton's chin, licking him happily.  Good person!

Ashton laughed a little and kept trying to pet the squirming kitten.

Night settled down finally and curled up against Ashton, still purring.  Nap time!

Ashton laughed a little and kept petting the kitten. He liked being with Night. It calmed him to pet the little fluffball.

(It would be awesome if Ashton really did start carrying him around in his pocket.)

Lex carried the box inside and put it by the door.  Tomorrow morning he'd carry it to the lab.  He turned toward the kitchen to find a drink, absently rubbing his temple.  The headache wasn't bad anymore, but the pressure was still there.  It was like his skull was filled with too much brain or something.  He snorted softly, making a note to never share that comparison with Ashton, and took a step.  
Then.... nothing.
Lex was on the floor of the kitchen, a couple of pots and pans on the floor with him.  Had he fallen?  He couldn't remember falling.  He hadn't heard the pots fall, either.  A mixing bowl still rocked slightly but was already stilling.

Ashton was downstairs in an instant, on high alert. He knelt next to Lex. "Lex, are you all right?" He asked worriedly. This was the second time in the past couple of days Ashton had found Lex collapsed on the floor. He was just thankful it was here, and not somewhere he was roof hopping. Lex was lucky, but Ashton doubted lucky enough to fall several stories unscathed.

"I'm... I..."  Lex couldn't focus.  He lay dazed, staring at the white mass above him.  Ceiling.  That was a ceiling.  Ashton wanted... what did he want?  "What was the question?" he asked blearily.

Ashton's frown deepened and he instead called Gaster. He got Lex a cup of water and tried to coax him to slowly drink it.

Lex choked on the water at first, gagging at the taste.  Why did the water taste so horrible?  Groaning, he struggled to sit up.  "What's going on?"

"I'm calling Gaster." Ashton said firmly. "This is the second time I've seen you collapse in the past couple days."

"I'm fine!" Lex protested, trying to wave off Ashton as he got to a sitting position.  "Just got dizzy.  Or something.  The floor's slippery."

"Not really!" Ashton said. Gaster picked up and Ashton explained what happened to the doctor. Gaster said something in turn to Ashton before he hung up. "He just said to make sure you're drinking enough water, and to keep track of these dizzy spells."

"I'm fine," Lex grumbled, "and I am drinking water!  You didn't need to bother him."  He pushed himself up slowly, wobbling a little.

Ashton frowned and grabbed Lex's arm to stabilize him. "I think we already covered I'm a needy bas----d, and I worry about you whether you want it or not."

"Yeah, yeah, whatever," Lex muttered, shaking off Ashton's arm.  "The water's nasty.  Got anything else to drink?"

"Orange juice." Ashton said flatly. "Apple juice. Milk."

"Apple sounds good," Lex said, gaining more confidence in his stride as he moved toward the fridge.

Ashton still kept a careful eye on Lex. He knew Lex said he was fine, but Ashton didn't believe it. He was just thankful now that they were in a safe place in case something indeed was wrong with Lex.

Lex leaned against the counter, sipping his juice thoughtfully.  "Wonder how long it's going to take that kid to come up with some names."

Ashton shrugged. "I suppose it depends on how good she is at recon. It can be kinda tricky if you don't know what you're doing."

"Don't think it's her forte, but I'm thinking she'll get it," Lex said.  He lifted his cup to his lips, hiding his muttered words, "Better sooner than later."

Ashton nodded a little. "Just it's good in a roundabout way drugs don't affect me anymore, other than some making me sick for a couple hours."

Lex grunted, looking away.  He shifted, looking as though he wanted to say something, but he stopped himself before he did and turned away, washing out his cup.

Ashton sound up getting a drink of water himself. "Did you get the science thing done?"
