DT Serum, Primary Testing In Progress

Ashton laughed some. He stopped pushing Shuni and got on the swing next to his brother. Soon enough, they matched in height. Ashton smiled. He had forgotten how fun this could be!

Shuni threw his head back, giggling madly.  "We're flying!" he cried out, loving the feeling of the wind on his face.  He looked at Ashton, his face alight with joy.

Ashton laughed light heartedly. He seemed happier and more relaxed than he had been in quite a while.

Shuni finally hopped off, stumbling a little.  He waited until Ashton swung close then lightly batted his knee like a cat before dashing off.  He didn't yell it - cats didn't - but the idea was clear.  "Tag!  You're it!"

Primus sat on the floor of the dark bathroom, his head against the cool wall, his body trembling.  The pain meds weren't working.  Not even the stuff Gaster had given him.  His empty belly churned, trying to empty itself yet again, but there was nothing to empty.  Choking slightly in pain and sickness, Primus staggered to his feet and hung onto the sink for dear life.  Once he felt stable enough to lean over, he rinsed out his mouth thoroughly before venturing out.  He kept one hand on the wall to guide himself, heading up the stairs shakily into his part of the attic.  He couldn't see where he was going, nothing but a bright blur, and had to rely on memory and instinct to get himself to his bed.  Even so, his elbow struck the lamp on his bedside table and sent it crashing to the floor.  Either it broke or someone set off a cannon through a glass factory at the same time, Primus couldn't tell.  It sounded the same to him.  He would have cursed, but that took too much energy and sound.  Instead, he crawled into bed like a small child and curled up in a fetal position, his head under the blanket.

Ashton laughed and jumped off of the swing at peak swing and hit the ground running after his brother.

Gaster heard the crashing; it woke him up. He felt a bit less hung over, and climbed upstairs to investigate. He saw the lamp and carefully cleaned up the mess with a slight sigh. He wondered if Primus was angry at something, or if something else was wrong. After the lamp was clean, Gaster went to Primus's room. "Primus?" He asked quietly.

Shuni squealed in laughter and ducked into the climbing part of the play set (climby/housey thingy?  Whatever it's called) and started scampering through it, trying to fit in places too small for his brother to follow.

Primus flinched at the loud noise, almost letting out a whimper.  Why was Gaster yelling at him?  Was he mad about the lamp?

Ashton laughed. He was actually having a good time. He wound up climbing over half of the things. His life on the streets made him a bit more nimble than most, and a bit more athletic. He tapped Shuni. "Tag." Ashton then climbed on top of the highest part of the set and watched Shuni try and reach him.

Gaster quietly came in. He took one look at Primus and slipped downstairs. He returned a few minutes later and silently gave him a glass. It was the same kind of tranq they used on large livestock, diluted fifty percent. His hope was that it would relax Primus enough he could sleep off this migraine.

Shuni frowned as he circled the playset and tried to figure out how to get up there.  After some thought, he kicked off his shoes and started climbing.  He wasn't as nimble as Ashton, but still quick.  He had to know how to be quick in order to get away from bad guys.  He reached up as far as he could and touched Ashton's toe.  "Tag!" he called then wobbled down a little more uncertainly than when he went up.

Primus stared at the glass a moment.  It was a show in how far his trust in Gaster had grown that he didn't ask, didn't balk, he simply took the glass and drank it as quickly as he could manage while grimacing at the taste.  He set the glass aside and lay back, his face pale and sweaty.

Ashton simply slid down, tagging Shuni back as he slid past his brother. "You're it!" he said before he sprinted away to a more open part of turf. Ashton knew he was a little faster, and had more experience reacting than anything.

Gaster wrote a note and showed Primus. He didn't want to escalate his migraine. The note read "Thee liquid was half of a tranquilizer, and half water. I am hoping it will help you relax enough to fall asleep and you can sleep this one off. If you wish, I can stay here in case you need anything."

"Ashton!" Shuni giggled, chasing after his brother.  He knew he couldn't outrun Ashton, but he didn't care.  Chasing him was just as much fun as catching him!

Primus squinted at the note, the words blurry on the paper.  Once he'd finally figured out what it said, he opened his mouth to tell Gaster it was okay.  He could head back downstairs.  The Doc had enough on his plate, especially now, he didn't need to be looking after him.  Primus opened his mouth and croaked, "Stay, please."

Ashton smiled. He ran into the main part of the park, and dodged around some trees. Once he lost Shuni, he climbed one to watch his brother. he planned on surprising him and tickling his brother into defeat.

Gaster nodded kindly. He sat on the very edge of Primus's bed, and intended to stay there until either the boy was better, the migraine passed, or he fell asleep. Even if Primus fell asleep, Gaster considered staying.

Shuni slowed and looked around in confusion.  Where had Ashton gone?  He circled the trees, seeking his brother.  "Ash?" he called out, puzzled and starting to get worried.

Primus hunkered down in bed, hiding from the world of sound and light.  He could feel the tranquilizer trying to take effect.  Gradually, he relaxed, but it just wasn't enough to put him out fully.  If it wouldn't have hurt his head so bad, Primus might have cried.

When Shuni was directly under the tree he was in, Ashton jumped down and scooped up his brother. "Gotcha!" He said triumphantly while tickling Shuni's sides.

As promised, Gaster stayed at Primus's bedside. He worried if the amount of tranquilizer was enough. He had a bit more, but if Primus's immunity to it made him have to use more, he wasn't sure he could keep enough on hand without causing too much worry. It wasn't exactly a common thing for anyone other than a vet to be ordering regularly.

Shuni shrieked in surprise then fell into a helpless squirming lump of giggles.  "Ash!" he squealed, unable to say anything else.

Primus drifted between waking and sleeping, the pain in his head gradually easing.  It didn't go away entirely, he could feel the pressure right there, but it wasn't nearly as bad as it had been.

Ashton grinned and kept tickling his little brother until he was sure Shuni was bested. he then released his little brother, laughing himself.
(Want maybe some bullies come and try to pick on Shuni? Just for some action?)

Gaster remained still, as promised. He was faily certain Primus didn't think much of the doctor, but Gaster saw Primus as a son.

(That was my original thought, but I chickened out because I thought those two deserved some time of pure fun.)
Shuni sat cross-legged on the grass, trying to pout and barely managing it with his giggles.  "Ashton, that's no fair!  You're not ticklish!  Are you?"

Primus finally drifted off, his body curling instinctively toward the only source of comfort he knew.  Gaster.  It wasn't an obvious thing, just a slight leaning into Gaster.

(Fair point. Perhaps next time then XD)
"Nope." Ashton said cheerily. "Not ticklish, I'm older, I'm bigger, so that means I'm better, right?" He asked with a teasing smile before he rumpled Shuni's hair.

Gaster gently rubbed Primus's back as he slept, like some good fathers might do for an unwell child.

Shuni stuck his tongue out at Ashton and tried to smooth his hair back down.  "Bigger is not better.  I hide better than you!"

Primus let out a quiet sigh, resting finally.  It was safe here.  He was safe.

Ashton raised an eyebrow. "You hide better? Even though I was hiding just now, and you didn't see me?" he retorted with a smile.

Gaster remained there, and kept rubbing Primus's back until he woke later.

"I didn't know we were hiding," Shuni sniffed.

Ashton's smile fades. "Hey, no crying, okay? It was just going to be a start... a joke. All right?"

Shuni smiled at Ashton.  "I wasn't serious.  You hide good, too."  He leaned forward and hugged Ashton tightly.  "Thank you for taking me out to play.  This is the best day I've ever had!"

Ashton smiled and laughed a little humorlessly. "That's a shame." he said. "Growing kid like you needs more fun days."

Shuni looked up at his brother, eyes wide.  "Does that mean we can do this more often??"

"Maybe." Ashton said. He laid down in the grass and looked up. He could see the sky through the tree branches, and the slight breeze made it peaceful.
