DT Serum, Primary Testing In Progress

"Making a shopping list." Layla told him. "So I can make many many desserts."

"I thought shopping lists were Shuni's thing," Lex said, coming to stand next to her.

Layla smiled at him. "This is for me, not Shuni this time. Is there any dessert in particular you want me to make you?"

"Pudding," he said instantly.  "Chocolate pudding.  Growing up, we got left alone a lot.  For some reason, we had this whole pile of chocolate pudding boxes.  So that's what we ate.  I haven't had it in years."

"Should I make it or buy it pre-made?" She asked him with a smile.

"Make!" Lex said happily, his eyes drooping.

Layla laughed and kissed Lex's cheek. "All right.... on one condition. You have to help me make all of these desserts." She negotiated.

"Okay," Lex agreed.  He propped his elbow on the table and promptly dozed off, barely propped upright.

Layla finished her list and poked Lex gently. "Wanna come with to get ingredients?" She asked him.

Lex jerked upright.  "Hmm, what?"

Layla smiled and giggled. "Do you want to come with and get some of the extra ingredients?" She asked again patiently.

Lex yawned and shook his head.  "Sorry, but I was out all night looking for Ashton's friend.  I think I'll get some shut eye instead, but I'll help you make the stuff."

Layla smiled and kissed his cheek. "Sleep is more important. How about you take a nap, and I'll wake you to taste test everything if you're still asleep by then?"

Lex frowned.  "Didn't you ask me to help?  I'll help."

"It's fine." Layla insisted. "I'd rather do it alone than have you fall asleep putting a pan into the oven." She teased lightly, and kissed his cheek again.

"Alright, fine," Lex grumbled.  "Take someone with you to the store?  Please?"

Layla smiled. "I'll ask Geena if she'd like to come with." She assured Lex.

"Thanks."  Lex stood and kissed Layla's cheek before wandering upstairs to collapse on his bed.  He was out like a light.

Layla smiled and true to her word, she wandered off to find Geena.

Geena was sitting in the living room, curled up with a pair of cats, sipping tea as she read the funnies in the newspaper.

Layla smiled and leaned over the couch. "Hey Geena?" She asked.

Geena looked up from her paper and returned the smile.  "Good morning, Layla.  Do you need something?"

"Yeah, I was wondering if you would please go to the store with me?" She asked. "I want to make a lot of different desserts, but Lex is super tired and needs to nap, and you were the next person that came to mind."

"Of course!" Geena agreed, folding the paper back up.  "Give me a moment to get a little more presentable, then we can go and beat the afternoon rush.  How does that sound?"

Layla smiled brightly. "Okay! Thanks!" She sat down and plopped Hugs on her lap to love and cuddle until Geena was ready.
