Gaster and Ashton both nodded and agreed to that. Layla tilted her head, mildly curious. After Gaster left, she dared ask. "So... why don't you like hospitals?"

Layla thought for a moment before she remembered what Geena told her about Lex's biological father. "Oh... right." She paused for a moment. "Then.... why does Dr. Gaster dislike hospitals?"

Layla nodded a bit and became quieter.
Ashton stretched in the quiet. He was still tired, but it was hard for him to fall asleep here, and even then, he didn't exactly want to.

Sam smiled and nodded, Ashton going with him out. "Want me to get you something to eat?" Ashton offered to Lex. "I think there's a bakery not far away."

Her lips twitched into a smile. "Well, sure, but I meant in here...." Layla lightly poked his head, " Or in here...." She lightly poked his chest next, just over his heart. "Other than the physical."

Layla smiled a little. "Just... curious was all." She hesitated and went to bite her lip in thought, but flinched. It was still split and healing, and the gesture kind of hurt. She had wondered what would have happened if she kissed Lex again.

Lex frowned and reached up. His calloused thumb was supremely gentle as he wiped away the drop of blood. "You okay?"

Lex's touch surprised Layla a little, and she looked up at him a moment. "Yeah..." She said softly. Layla found herself staring into his eyes after a moment, lost in their depths.
