Dragon Rider Play

"Don't plan to." Jeremiah said in a tight voice. "Ouch..."

Pat turned and picked up the vial 53 had left on the bedside table.  "Here.  Drink half of this."

Jeremiah nodded a little and did as Pat said. "Why not the whole thing?" He asked when he was done.

"The rest is for later," Pat told him, carefully putting in the stopper and setting it aside.  "It's very strong.  You shouldn't take much more than that at once."

Jeremiah nodded some. "I'm sorry to 53 if I drain his supply of that stuff... high metabolism is a pain when it comes to things like that."

"No pun intended?" Pat asked with a slight smile.

Jeremiah laughed weakly. "No pun intended."

"Would you like some water?" Pat asked.

Jeremiah gave a small nod. "Yes please." He paused. He almost asked something else, but didn't.

Pat stood and went to the other room to get a glass of water.  When she returned she asked, "Do you need or want anything else?"

Jeremiah shook his head and slowly sipped the water. "No. Not right now." A thought occurred to him. "Hey Pat? Do you think maybe later, you can tell Tithenor and Luke I'm holed up in here?"

Pat nodded.  "I will.  Tithenor probably already knows, but I can go tell them now if you don't need anything."

Jeremiah nodded. "Please?" He asked.

"Take care of yourself, Jeremiah.  I'll be back soon," Pat said, patting his arm before she left.

Erika whined and inched up to lick his face.  She was sorry!  If she hadn't been being so naughty, maybe he would have been paying more attention.

Jeremiah sighed and shook his head. "No, it had nothing to do with you, little lady." He closed his eyes. The only downside to the medicine is that it made him sleepy. Not that he minded. Jeremiah's eyes were closed, but he didn't go to sleep. Too many thoughts were swirling about his head to allow that.

Pat went to see Tithenor and Luke, informing them of what had happened with Jeremiah.  Tithenor said a lot of words she didn't understand and suspected didn't want to.  She never would have guessed the elf would have had such a foul mouth!  Obtaining his promise that Tithenor would visit soon, Pat went to inform Luke before going back to the ward.

Luke was working hard aside from everyone to try and catch up with the other riders. Despite having been told to not push himself, he was still pushing himself as far as he could safely.

Pat waved to catch his attention.  "Luke!  I need to talk to you."

Luke looked over at Pat and nodded. He finished what he was doing and went over to talk to his friend while he caught his breath. "Yeah? What's up, Pat?"

Pat explained what had happened to Jeremiah.  "He's resting, but after class could you come visit him?"

Luke nodded. "Of course. Is Blue going to come too?"

"The Headmaster said he could have a few minutes before the next class," Pat said.

Luke nodded. "Okay. I'm going to get back to work now. I have a lot of catching up to do!"

Pat nodded and turned to run back to the ward.  She wondered if Jeremiah had fallen asleep yet or not.  She nodded to 53 as she made her way into the ward and let herself into the room.  "Jeremiah?" she whispered.  "Are you asleep?"

(If she asks, he's going to answer XD unless you wanted it to happen at a different time....)
