DT Serum, Primary Testing In Progress

Layla giggled and kissed his cheek before helping him stand up and got him downstairs.

Gaster looked up and nodded. "Yes, sorry. What can I do?" He asked Geena as he stood from the desk and readjusted his glasses.

Lex grumbled but did his best to soothe his ruffled hair.

Geena slipped into the empty chair and faced him.  "The baby..."

Layla smiled and helped.

Gaster nodded and slowly sat back down. "Ah, right. Should we tell them?"

Geena took a deep breath.  "Nothing yet.  After the wedding, if we could spend a night or two alone, I think that would be good for us, and the following week I have an appointment with the doctor.  I would like you to come with me, and then we can tell the children together."  She said everything very carefully and neatly, offering Gaster the opportunity to counter her proposal.

However, Gaster trusted Geena and her judgement. If she though this was best, and was what she wanted, he would not go against her wishes. "All right." He said with a nod. "That sounds good to me."

Geena smiled in relief.  "And then comes the fun of deciding names."

Gaster smiled and blushed. "Are you hoping for a boy or a girl?"

"Well, a boy would be lovely, but I admit it would be nice to add a girl to your collection of boys," Geena said with a coy smile.

Gaster chuckled softly. "I will admit to loving the child either way, but a girl would be nice." He agreed. He already loved the child, and it wasn't even born yet.

"Boy or girl, I think they will be drowning in love," Geena giggled, reaching over the desk to take his hand.  "We should go join the others for dinner.  You know how Shuni makes them wait."

Gaster chuckled and lightly squeezed Geena's hand. "Yes, we should join them before they starve, or try to eat each other."

"Or do the less drastic thing of revolting against Shuni," she chuckled, standing and heading toward the kitchen.

Lex tried to sneak a bite, but Shuni smacked his hand with a spoon.  "Mommy and Daddy aren't here yet!"

Gaster laughed softly and followed her. "Are you all behaving?" He asked everyone as he sat down.

"Yes!" came the chorus.
"Can we Please eat now?" Lex demanded.

"I suppose so." Gaster chuckled. "What's on the menu tonight, Master Chef Shuni?"

"Cheesy hamburger pasta shells and cheesy garlic mashed potatoes!" Shuni said happily.

"Sounds awfully cheesy if you ask me." Gaster said calmly before taking a bite. Sam snickered at his dad's joke. He loved puns.

"Is that bad?" Shuni asked worriedly.
Geena patted his shoulder.  "No, dear, it's just a joke."
"Oh," Shuni smiled.

Gaster smiled and chuckled. "It tastes excellent, Shuni." He complimented.

"I think there's cookies for after." Layla offered. "Unless Lex ate the last of them."

"Yay for cookies!" True cheered.  "And yes, Shuni, this is very good!"

Lex nudged Layla gently.  "I left enough for the others!  I think.  Oh, and I have an errand to run tonight."

Layla laughed. "Maybe I'll have to find some new sweets to make for Lex, as well as more cookies."

"Want some company?" Ashton offered to Lex.

"Thanks, but I got this."  Lex turned back to his food, eating it quickly before standing.  "Hey, Dad?  Ashton volunteered to pull kitchen duty.  Later."  He bolted for the door, snagging his coat on the way out.

"Wait, what?" Ashton asked as he was volunteered. 

"Don't be out too long." Layla told Lex as he left. "And be safe!"

Ashton sighed and started to gather the dishes as everyone got done, and Layla was offering the last of the cookies to everyone.

True chuckled and helped Ashton, turning down a cookie.  "Thanks, Ashton.  You didn't have to."

Ashton shrugged and continued working. "Keeps me occupied and out of trouble."
