DT Serum, Primary Testing In Progress

Layla smiled back at Geena. "Okay. I'll tell him once he recovers a bit more."

(Is Geena talking a little bit about Gaster too? XD)

Geena smiled a little.  "I know he appreciates you staying with him.  You are a good friend."

Lex still didn't move, pretending to be asleep now.  Waking up now would be... awkward.

Layla looked at Lex a moment before back at Geena. "I'm trying to be. He has been a good one to me, before he really even knew who I was. I... I just want to repay him the favor and then some, you know?"

Geena smiled faintly.  "You'll never be able to, no matter how much you try."
Lex stirred, his arm moving slightly.

Layla noticed and hushed up, watching Lex. She still didn't have the courage to tell him in person quite yet.

Lex cracked his eyes open, looking up at Layla.  "Ashton?" he asked softly.  Was his friend here, asleep, or out eating?

Layla looked around a bit. "I think he stepped out?"

"Hope he eats," Lex grumbled, closing his eyes.
Geena stood and brushed the wrinkles out of her skirt.  "Speaking of eating, I'll go talk to the Doctor about getting you something to eat."

Layla smiled and waved bye to Geena as she left.

Gaster was drinking a cup of coffee while sifting through documents, putting some through the shredder.

"Wish those two would make up and tie the knot already," Lex grumbled. 

Geena tapped on the door.  "Doctor?"

Layla giggled. "Her and Dr. Gaster? I think they make a cute couple."

Gaster looked up. "Ah! Morning, Geena." He greeted. "Is everything all right? How are you? How is Lex?"

"Cute enough to make you gag," Lex snorted softly.

"All is well, thank you," Geena smiled.  "Lex is awake and seems to be lucid.  I was wondering if there were any dietary restriction for him?"

Layla laughed a little. "Well, I think everyone should have at least a chance at happiness, and if they make each other happy, so be it."

Gaster considered. "I don't believe so. Just so long as he doesn't move his neck too much, I can't think of anything he couldn't eat."

"I guess you're right," Lex agreed.

"Don't forget to eat yourself," Geena admonished.  "Something healthier than doughnuts.  I'll see about getting him some food."  She left with a faint smile and went to the cafeteria.  A short time later, she headed to Lex's room.

Layla smiled thoughtfully. "I kind of wonder how lucky True and Kat are to have each other. They seem to be pretty in tune with each other."

Gaster laughed sheepishly, but promised Geena he would.

Lex snickered softly.  "In tune.  That's funny.  Tune." 
Geena stepped in and smiled.  "Did I miss a joke?"

Layla hadn't realized what she said at first and started to giggle. "I said Kat and True were 'in tune' with each other."

Geena hesitated.  "I am not sure I understand... Layla, could you please sit the bed up for me?"  She set Lex's breakfast on the food tray and prepared to roll it over to him.

Layla nodded and did as Geena asked, slowly raising the bed so Lex was in more of a sitting position. "Kat and True are both musicians. hey work on songs together and everything. Apparently, they're doing pretty well at it even."

Geena looked puzzled a moment longer.  Then realization dawned.  "Ah.  Of course.  Now I feel silly," she chuckled.  Silly and sick, she realized, catching another wiff of Lex's breakfast.

Layla noticed Geena's off-ness. "I can help Lex from here if you want." She offered with a kind smile.

Geena smiled.  "Thank you, dear.  Call me if you need anything."  She hurried out, heading for the bathroom.  She needed to breathe.

"That was odd," Lex mumbled, fiddling with his food.

Layla nodded. "I hope she's feeling alright." She turned to Lex. "You got it, big guy?"

Lex gave Layla a look. "You sound like you're talking to a child."  He fumbled with his pudding cup but finally got it open.

"Well, I am sorry for giving a damn about you." Layla said with a slight huff. "I'm sorry I actually care and want to make sure you're taken care of."
