DT Serum, Primary Testing In Progress

True was quiet for a while as he worked, feeling stung though he wasn't sure why. He'd just been joking, and Gaster hadn't been angry, though a little disapproving at first, but then had explained. So why should he feel stung? It made no logical sense.

A couple hours later, a tired Paul came down and crawled into True's lap, Hugging him. "I'm going to bed."

True smiled as he hugged Paul tightly. "Good night, little buddy. "Have good dreams, okay?"

Paul smiled at his big brother. "Okay. I hope you sleep well too." He hugged True again before he climbed back upstairs to go to bed.

True rolled to the basement stairs, thinking Sam was still down with his robots. "Sam? You going to bed?"

True heard soft snoring downstairs, and would just be able to see Sam passed out on a workbench from his angle.

(*pokes*)

True chuckled at the sight and rolled back, looking for Gaster. "Dad?" he called.

*meows*

Gaster came downstairs. "Yes?"

"Sam fell asleep downstairs, and I can't carry him up," True said. "I think that's our cue to wrap it up."

Gaster nodded. "Yes, that's probably good for tonight. Thank you for telling me about Sam." He went downstairs and picked the sleeping boy up, and carried him to bed. "You can sleep on the couch again if you want." He offered to True.

"Thanks," True yawned. "Night, dad."

"Good night, True." Gaster said with a warm smile as he went upstairs.

True didn't feel like getting on the couch. He grabbed a pillow, set his break, and slid down to the floor where he curled up and went to sleep.

Part way through the night, True's phone rings.

True groaned and fumbled around until he found his knapsack. Where was the zipper? Oh, there it was. Phone. Answer it. "Hello?" he croaked. No, wait, it was upside down. He turned it rightside up and tried again. "Hello?"

For a few seconds, all he heard was sobbing. Then, Kat's scared voice came through the speaker, trembling. "True? I... I'm scared, True."

True stared at the phone, confused, then put it back to his ear. "Kat?" he asked. "Kat, what happened?"

It was indeed Kat, and she sounded genuinely scared. True, I went to a dj job, and some guys tried to attack me on my way back to the bus stop. I managed to get away, but I'm scared and don't know what to do. I... I don't want to walk the rest of the way home alone. I don't want them to attack me again. What if they're outside waiting for me?"

"Where are you at exactly?" True asked, sitting up. "Where's this DJ place?"

"It was as I was walking home." Kat explained. "I'm in the bathroom at the 5th street Walmart. It was the safest place I could see right away." She still sounded really scared.

"Okay, hang on." True dragged himself into hid chair, grunting, and wheeled to the bottom of the stairs. "DAD!!" Back to the phone. "Okay, Kat, stay right where you are. We're on our way, okay?"

Gaster came down, rubbing his face and putting his glasses on. He was wearing some fuzzy pants with little beakers on them and a "#1 Dad" tee shirt. "True... What is going on at this time of night?"

Kat nodded and spoke softly in the phone, but did not hang up. "O-okay."

True looked up at Gaster, dead serious. "Dad, I need a ride to Wal-Mart on 5th street. Now, please. Hey, Kat? I'm still here, don't worry, just need to get in the car, okay?"

"I can teleport us there if it's that important." Gaster said seriously.

"Okay. Please be careful. I don't know if they're still hanging around or not." Kat said. She sounded a little better knowing that True was going to be there and help her.

True covered the phone a moment. "No, car. Car is best. I don't think she needs to know about teleportation just yet."
