DT Serum, Primary Testing In Progress

"Just relax, buddy.  It'll be over soon," Lex told him softly.  "Just... one question.  What made you even want to try?"

"I... never had one before... and Tramp offered one while we were talking..." Ashton told Lex truthfully.

Lex considered.  Seemed reasonable enough.  "Want me to stay or go?" he asked.  He wasn't much of a nurse when it came to just sticking around, but if Ashton wanted company...

"Stay for now please?" Ashton asked quietly. "At least until I feel less sick?"

"Sure," Lex agreed, taking a seat.

Ashton was quiet, hugging the bucket as he tried to think. Perhaps he should talk to True? He might have more of an idea on things than Lex at least.

"You want me to get you anything?" Lex asked after a while.

He shook his head. "No. Do you know when True will be back?" He asked.

True?  Unexpected.  "I think sometime this afternoon."

Ashton nodded a little. "I have a question I wanna ask him." He explained when he noticed Lex's slight surprise at it.

"Didn't ask," Lex said simply.  "I'll let you know when he's home if you're still laid low."

Ashton nodded a little. "I think I'm going to try and take a nap again..." He told Lex.

"Alright," Lex said calmly.  He'd wait until Ashton went to sleep then go downstairs to spend time with Layla.

Ashton nodded and carefully readjusted himself to lie back down. A short while later, he fell asleep.

Lex headed downstairs, looking around.  "Sam?"

"He's in the garage." Layla told him. "Making sure everything is running smoothly with Jeffery."

"Ah, cool," Lex nodded.  "Brownies smell better than cookies."

Layla smiled and handed him a fresh brownie on a paper towel. "I need someone to taste test this. Just be careful; it may still be hot."

Lex took the brownie and studied it.  "I've never had a brownie before."

"These are just chocolate brownies with chocolate chips." Layla smiled. "Sometimes people add nuts or marshmallows to them, but this is how I like them."

Lex carefully took a bite.  "Oh my great uncle Harvey's grapes!  This is good!"

Layla giggled, glad Lex liked them. "Well, we have several plates of brownies now, and I saved some batter for you to just eat if you wanted."

"I can eat the batter?" he mumbled around his bite, awestricken.

Layla nodded. "Just not too much all at once. Same as the cookie dough." She opened the fridge and presented Lex with a small tupperware with some brownie batter in it.

Lex accepted the dough then calmly walked off.  "Thanks!"  Now to eat it in peace.
