Dragon Rider Play

Jeremiah looked out. "Hmmm... That may deter him." He mused.

Luke nodded. "Yeah!" He brushed himself off and got ready.

"Not Krudd," Tithenor commented.  "I wonder if Lucius will be called in for another class after all..."

Pat opened the door and paused.  "Wow, that's thick fog!"

"Don't know." Jeremiah shrugged. "To be honest, I think Lucius half likes that he gets to teach at least Luke for a while longer. Should have heard Luke yesterday." He laughed some. "Luke told us that Lucius wanted him to come to catch up on lessons during Luke's free period, and Luke was bragging to us like it was an honor and a treat."

Luke peeked out curiously. "I don't like it. Something about this fog makes my hair stand up on end..."

"Was he truly?" Tithenor asked, smiling.  "This is good!  We need at least one of us interested in books."

Pat peered through the fog.  "Let's run for it."

Jeremiah laughed. "Probably. I prefer the forge, personally."

Luke nodded. "I'll be right behind you."

"I do not mind either," Tithenor admitted.  "Both have pros and cons."

Pat took a deep breath.  "One, two.... THREE!!"  She took off running for the medical ward.

Jeremiah smiled. "Where do you prefer?"

Luke, as promised, stayed right at Pat's heels.

"Blackwater and Alterion's classes.  I find them enjoyable," Tithenor said.

Pat sprinted across the grounds then slipped inside, waiting for Luke to catch up.  He was right.  This fog felt weird.

Jeremiah smiled. "I like those classes too." He said. "I just think I like Krudd's a little more."

Luke was in sight of the door when there was a slight hum and then a bright flash of light. When the light faded, Luke was on the ground, slightly singed and convulsing a little. He looked completely knocked out.

"You do well in Krudd's class," Tithenor agreed.  "I am glad you like it."

"53!" Pat screamed and ran outside.  She grabbed Luke and pulled him into the medical war.
53 was there in seconds helping Pat pull Luke inside.  "What happened?"
"Lightening!"

Jeremiah smiled, but grew concerned when he heard Pat scream. He stood an ran in time to see them drag in a still twitching Luke. Hearing it was lightning, he paled. "53, you'll check his heart, right? I heard of a guy who was struck by lightening. Right afterwords, they couldn't find his heartbeat."

"Jeremiah, close all the doors and windows.  Now," 53 said teresly, ignoring the question as he focused on getting Luke's vitals stable.  "Needle, go sound the alarm.  The announcement should have gone out already.  No one goes out with the clouds!"
Needle churred and bounded away.

Jeremiah nodded and swiftly went to close everything. He was tense the whole time. Lastly, he got to Tithenor's window. "Luke was struck by lightning." He told the elf as he closed and secured his window.

"Jukkete!" Tithenor swore through tight lips.  "He lives still?"

"I think so. 53 and Pat were going to work on him when 53 told me to secure all the windows." Jeremiah said. He went back up to where Luke, 53, and Pat were. He tried to get an update on Luke's status.

"He's alive," 53 said.  "He is going to be in a lot of pain, but he will be fine."

Jeremiah let out a breath of relief and reported back to Tithenor. "He'll be hurting, but Luke will live."

Tithenor nodded, sighing in relief.  "Ask 53 if he can stay in my room."

Jeremiah nodded and gophered back to 53. "Hey 53? Can Luke stay in Tithenor's room while they both recover?"

53 looked somewhat surprised by the request but nodded.  "Yes, he may.  Pat, you and Jeremiah put that empty bed in his room."

Jeremiah nodded and moved the bed with Pat. "Hopefully the company will make Tithenor less stir crazy."

"Give him someone to mother hen," Pat grunted, struggling with her end.
They got the bed in place and Pat wnt back for Luke. 53 carried him to the bed and laid him out.
"Rest is what he needs. And patience. He bit his tongue pretty bad and will be rather hard to understand for a time," the healer explained.

Jeremiah sighed. "All we need now is for Pat and I to hurt ourselves, and then we can all be med ward buddies and bother 53 to no end."

"Absolutely not!" Tithenor and 53 said in perfect chorus.

Pat couldn't help a small smile at that as she sat on the end of Luke's bed. 53 would have stayed, but he had to rush off and ensure the other riders were safe.

"Hey, I was just joking." Jeremiah said with a smile as he sat down in the chair and sighed.
