Dragon Rider Play

Nightshade sleepily looked to at Pat. Could she nap there?

"I think you can sleep through most of it," Pat confirmed.  "Come on."

Nightshade slowly got up and rubbed against Pat's leg. She wanted to be carried.

"I can't carry you much longer," Pat warned, scooping up Nightshade.  "Luke gets released today.  Tithenor tomorrow.  Let's go say hi and walk Luke out."

Nightshade cuddled against Pat and purred. She liked being close to Pat.

Pat smiled and stroked her feathers as she carried Nightshade to the medical ward.  This was going to be awkward when Nightshade was bigger.

Nightshade loved cuddling and being close to Pat in general. Luke was up. He felt a lot better, but still a little sore, especially his mouth.

"Be respectful of the limitations your body has placed upon you and you will heal faster," Tithenor warned, longing to be going with Luke.  Tomorrow.  Tomorrow he would be released.

Pat came in and smiled at the pair.  "Good morning!"

Luke nodded. "Okay." He promised the elf. "Morning Pat!"

"Good morning, Pat," Tithenor smiled.  "How are you?"
"I'm good, thank you, Tithenor!" Pat smiled.  "How are you?  And you, Luke?"

"Better, but not a hundred percent yet." Luke said honestly.

Nightshade dozed off in Pat's arms.

"Do you want to walk with me to the mess hall?" Pat offered, shifting Nightshade in her arms.

Nightshade woke a little before the dragon tried to go back to sleep.

Luke smiled and nodded. "Sure."

I'll see you later, Tithenor!" Pat called with a little wave, walking with Luke.

Luke smiled and said bye to Tithenor as well. "He's pretty cool." Luke commented after they left the ward.

"We think so," Pat smiled.  "He's an amazing leader."

Luke nodded. "I could tell just yesterday. He and I talked, and he was constantly making sure I was okay."

(Just guessing. Feel free too tell me how wrong that assumption is if you want XD)

"We think of him as our father figure, though it makes him grumble," Pat chuckled.

Luke laughed. Jeremiah reached the Mess Hall about the same time as Pat and Luke. "Hey guys." Jeremiah greeted. "What's new?"

"Luke is up and about!  And he approves of Father Tithenor," Pat cheered, setting her dragon down.  "Nightshade, sleep here, I'll be out in a minute."

Nightshade curled up. Okay. Naptime!

Jeremiah laughed. "I'm sure Tithenor will be thrilled to hear that."

"I'll let you tell him," Pat said, poking his shoulder then ran off to get to the front of the line.

"OH NO YOU DON'T!" Jeremiah called after Pat. He bolted to try and beat his friend to the front while Luke walked behind them to the line.

Pat laughed and slid into the first position.  "I win!"

Jeremiah started to poke her side to try and get her to move. "No fair. You had a head start on me!"
