Dragon Rider Play

"Biscuits and gravy with sausage!" Pat reported.  "Warm comfort food!"

Jeremiah grinned. "And it smells divine!" He smacked his lips and then his stomach growled.

Pat laughed at him and got in line right as the chef called them to come get food.  "I haven't had it since I was little!"

"It just smells like a slice of heaven!" Jeremiah said as he helped himself to his usual generous amount.

Pat just laughed and helped herself.  "Wonder where Luke is?"

Warrior nuzzled Luke's ear, licking his hair and messing it into spikes.

Jeremiah frowned. "I don't know."

Luke yawned and woke. "Is it morning already?"

"We can look for him after you're done," Pat said, digging into breakfast.

Warrior chirped and licked Luke's ear.  Wake up time!  Now what was going on with the roof?

Jeremiah started to nod, but stopped. "I was going to bring Tithenor his breakfast after this." He frowned.

Luke looked up. "Oh, it's rain. Water that falls from the sky."

"Okay.  I'll find Luke, you figure out how to get the food to Tithenor without it drowning," Pat said.  "How's that?"

Warrior bounced, his front paws thumping against Luke's chest.  Rain sounded fun!  So it was like a shower?  He liked showers!

Jeremiah nodded. "Sounds good." He quickly finished eating so he could be sure to get Tithenor a plate before the chefs closed everything off.

Luke smiled. "Kind of, yeah. Think of it like a shower everywhere."

Pat finished off her plate and took care of hers and Jeremiah's dishes before going to the rookery.  Maybe he was there.

Warrior squealed and bounded in a circle around Luke.  Why weren't they going to play in the shower?

Jeremiah got Tithenor's plate ready and got an idea. "Chef Amond? May I ask you a favor?" He asked politely.

Luke laughed. "I have to feed you first, you goober!" He told Warrior.

"More food?" the chef asked with a faint smirk.

Warrior whined.  Then let's eat!  Eat and go play!

Jeremiah shook his head. "I have Tithenor's plate ready, but do you happen to have a food cover I can borrow so his food doesn't drown, to use Pat's phrase."

Luke grinned and got some food out for Warrior. "I'm going to go eat, and then I'll be right back, okay?"

"Ah," he chuckled then went back.  After a moment, he returned with a rounded cover.  "Here you are!  Send my greetings, please."

Warrior growled and attacked his food eagerly.

Pat entered then and shook her head to clear the water from her eyes.  "Luke!  Luke, are you in here?"

Jeremiah smiled. "Thank you very much, and I'll be sure to tell him!" He promised before he covered Tithenor's food and went out to go to the medical ward.

Luke smiled and waved. "Morning, Pat!" He called out.

Needle was waiting, and the white feathered dragon fussily cleaned up after Jeremiah's muddy prints.

Tithenor sat propped against the pillows, slowly and peacefully stroking Mellon.

"Morning, Luke!  Where have you been?" Pat called in return.

Jeremiah nodded a greeting to Needle and tried to wipe his feet cleaner at the door before he went back. "Morning, toriaun." He greeted. Jeremiah took the cover off with flourish. "Your breakfast."

"Oh, I fell asleep with Warrior in his stall." Luke said. He wasn't concerned, seeing as he had no clue he slept in a lot later than he should have.

"Good morning, honeg," Tithenor greeted with a small smile.  "Thank you for this."

"It's after breakfast," Pat said.  "I saved you some since the chefs have cleaned up already."  She handed him a small plate she'd kept sheltered.

Jeremiah grinned. "Nor problem at all. How are you feeling today?"

Luke looked mortified. "What?! Oh, that means I overslept?!" He started to frantically try to get himself and Warrior ready while he ate his breakfast.

"Stronger," Tithenor answered.  "Thank you for this.  Are you enjoying the rain?"

"Yes, by a lot," Pat smiled, brushing off his back.  "Slow down!  You'll get more done that way."

Jeremiah smiled. "I am, actually. It's nice. You?"

Luke frowned but slowed down a little.

"It is beautiful to watch," Tithenor agreed.  "I wonder if class will be able to continue."

"You're not late for class yet, just missed breakfast," Pat assured him.

"We will see." Jeremiah mused. "Somehow, I don't see a little rain deterring either Alterrion or Blackwater."

Luke nodded a little and paused to try and calm down some.

"Except perhaps for the lightening as we are much closer to the clouds," Tithenor pointed out.  "And the fact that we appear to be entering a cloud now."  He gestured out the window to the extraordinarily thick fog bank rolling across the island.

"Better," Pat smiled.  "I'm going to go visit Tithenor before class.  Do you want to come?"
