Dragon Rider Play

Warrior studied Luke a moment then copied his bow.  After you, sir!

Luke laughed and picked Warrior up. "How about at the same time, sir?"

Warrior chirped in approval.  That worked for him!

(I'm waiting for Jeremiah to come wake up Pat and company)

Luke laughed and walked across the bridge with Warrior.

Jeremiah woke and stretched. he got his clothes on and walked to the rookery, yawning. He hoped Erika slept well. He smiled when he saw Pat, Nightshade, and Erika all cuddled together.

Warrior liked being carried across the bridge.  He was royalty!

Erika poked her head out from under the blankets when she sensed Jeremiah and blinked sleepily.  Oh.  Hello.  Did he need something?

Luke laughed. "I apologize good sir, but you must go catch your own food."

Jeremiah shook his head. "Just wanted to see if you were up for getting breakfast just yet."

Warrior whind, but he scrambled out of Luke's arms to do just that.  He liked hunting!  Hunting was fun!

Erika yawned and burrowed back under the blankets.  That answer your question?
"Who's breaking things?" Pat mumbled sleepily, shifting closer to Nightshade.

Luke waited. He just hummed and tinkered with the parts he always carried with him.

Jeremiah smiled. "Morning, sleepyhead. I was talking about breakfast, actually."

"I wanna sleep.  It's warm here," Pat mumbled, burying her nose in Nightshade's feathers.

Jeremiah laughed. "You'll miss breakfast then. And no, I'm not bringing you any." He playfully stuck his tongue out at Pat.

"Okay," Pat mumbled.  "You like breakfast more than me, anyway."  She yawned, hugging Nightshade.  Good warm dragon feathers!

Jeremiah laughed. He entered the stall and sat down. "I'll give you all a few more minutes before I get breakfast for myself and Tithenor."

"Um-hmm," Pat mumbled, drifting happily.
Erika's tail flicked out from under the blankets to tap Jeremiah's leg.

Jeremiah smiled and stroked Erika some. He was glad to just hang out with friends right now.

Gradually Erika got hungry enough to leave, and she stood, shaking off the blankets.  That move pulled the blankets half off Nightshade.

Nightshade woke and squeaked indignantly at the horrible thing, and moved from Pat to retrieve the blankets.

"Brr!" Pat protested, trying to find her lost warmth.

Erika ignored the other two as she shook herself and wandered over to Jeremiah.  Okay, she was up.  Where was food?

Jeremiah laughed. "Right this way, little lady." He guided Erika to where they kept her food that had been saved overnight for today. "There ya go."

Erika cheered and dove into the food.  Yum!

"Well, I guess it's dead enough for her," Pat chuckled.

Jeremiah smiled. "Yup. So when she hunts, it has to be for the next day kind of thing."

"Maybe hat's how her kind hunt in nature.  They stock up for another day," Pat said, brushing the straw from her hair,  "I read that's how crocodiles andalligatorss. eat."

Jeremiah shrugged. "Either way, she's happy, and that's all I care about right now."

Pat stretched and shook herself, fluffing her hair with her fingers.  "Come on, Nightshade, let's go get food!"

Nightshade chirped and followed Pat. Okay.

Jeremiah stayed with Erika, ready to clean her when all was done.

Luke grinned. Now he had made a stranger thing than a mechanical mouse. This one strapped to his wrist.

Mellon yawned and looked up at his rider. He had slept with Tithenor in the medical ward last night.

Pat headed for the small Wild Island. Breakfast time again!

Erika did her usual dive in and eat from the inside out. Yum!

Warrior came prancing back with a grouse hanging from his jaws.

Tithenor smiled down at his dragon. "/Good morning, Mellon."
