Dragon Rider Play

Jeremiah nodded and held the strand. "i swear, you're more concerned about your hair and looks than most girls." He teased.

"Elven or human?" Tithenor retorted befor taking the strand back and slipping in a bead.  "Elven females take hours to prepare."

Jeremiah laughed. "Sometimes it seems like you take hours. Does that count?"

Tithenor gave him an offended look.  "One hour!  If I am making an effort.  I have gone down hill since coming here.  My mother commented on my lax speech and how disreputable I look.  She fears for my future."

Jeremiah smiled. "I'm a terrible influence, aren't I? And in your defense, you couldn't really make yourself pretty by yourself. You had to ask Pat to help, and he isn't an elf." Jeremiah luckily caught himself from calling Pat a she before the fact, so it didn't seem like he nearly slipped up.

"Indeed, and it is difficult to make oneself fully presentable inside a healer's ward," Tithenor sighed.  "Ah well.  I shall always endeavor to do my best."

"Well, I know you will always look your best if you have a say in it." Jeremiah said. "Well, I best be getting to breakfast. Anything in particular you want me to bring back?"

"No, thank you," Tithenor said with a smile.  "I am not that hungry, but I should eat.  Whatever you judge best."

"You are going to eat." Jeremiah said firmly. "Even if I have to tattle to 53 and make him force feed you." He told Tithenor bye and went to the mess hall. On the way there, he wondered if he would run into Pat, and if they could talk in line a little.

Pat had gotten to the mess hall shortly before Jeremiah and stood waiting patiently.  She smiled when she saw Jeremiah.  "I saved you a place."

Jeremiah smiled and went over to Pat. "Thanks! How's the dragons?"

"They're good.  Mellon misses Tithenor.  Maybe we should take him to visit Tithenor later," she said.

"I think Tithenor would like that." Jeremiah smiled. "I'm debating on asking Alterrion if I could skip his class today to keep Tithenor company. It's not like I would be hurting from missing one class, one day, right?"

Pat considered.  "I suppose it wouldn't hurt.  What will Erika do?"

"Erika can come with if she wants." Jeremiah said. "She usually gets along with Mellon, and may like the slightly warmer building over being outside."

"It is weird that the rookery isn't warm," Pat frowned.  "Why do you think that is?"

"Maybe to toughen the dragons to the harsh conditions of the outdoors?" Jeremiah shrugged. "Otherwise, I don't know."

Mark and Luke walked in. Luke was a bit downcast that Warrior couldn't come with, but perked up as he smelled food. He was starving!

Pat started to answer then grinned when she saw Luke.  "He looks almost as happy as you when he smells food."

Jeremiah pretended to look taken aback. "But there can only be one favorite!" He said dramatically and jokingly.

The brothers came over. Luke grinned. "Hi Pat! Hi Jeremiah!"

"Hello, Luke.  You are going to have serious competition here," Pat laughed.

Luke looked confused. "What for? Is there someone else here who likes to invent too? Maybe we can collab on projects or something."

"No, as a love for food," Pat smiled as she moved along the line.  "Yum!  French toast!"

(I doubt they'd be called French, but for the sake of convenience...)

Luke smiled. "I like food, and appreciate good food, but I wouldn't say I love it."

"Ha! There, Pat!" Jeremiah said triumphantly. "I told you there could only be one!"

"I don't know what I would do with two of you," Pat laughed.  "Come on, I'm hungry!  I can take Tithenor's breakfast, if you'd like?"

"I got it." Jeremiah grinned. "I did give him a heads up though, and he's as presentable as he feels he can in the med ward. Perhaps we can all visit him, actually."
