Dragon Rider Play

Tithenor went to the first clearing to look for Mark. If the human wasn't there, he'd move on to see Pat himself and see them at breakfast. Spotting him, he shifted Mellon to one arm and raised a hand in greeting. "Mark."

The little dragon stopped, turning to look at Blade. She actually felt bad for causing him to be sad. She went back to him and lifted her wings, asking to be picked up.

Mark waved a little back. He then stroked his dragon down the frill.

Blade picked up his dragon and scratched under her chin. "Does this mean we're good?" He asked. He saw Tithenor and started to walk towards him.

Mark's dragon purred, lounging against his rider proudly. They had done good today! Well, except for his sneezes...
"Melloraumo and I intend to visit Patrick. Do you desire to join us?" Tithenor invited politely.

The Blade dragon lifted her nose, touching his chin gently with a soft mewing sound. She was sorry!

Mark smiled and praised his dragon a bit more. "Yeah, we should go and make sure our last squad member is all right."

Blade smiled. "It's okay. You're forgiven."

Tithenor paused, glancing over his shoulder. "I believe Blade is coming to join us."

The little dragon purred, touching her nose to him happily.

Blade smiled at his dragon as he joined the others. "So what're we doing now?" He asked.

"We intend to visit Patrick," Tithenor replied, starting toward the bridge. "Would you two care to join us?"

Blade nodded. "Sure. Nothing better to do, and we should make sure our Twig didn't snap."

Tithenor raised a brow. "Twig?" he repeated, mystified.

Blade shrugged. "Well, Pat is kind of thin and scrawny like one..."

Tithenor hesitated then sighed. "/What is with humans and nicknames?/" he asked Melloraumo. He still wanted to know Blade's real name.

But Blade was not telling anyone that. At least not yet.

Tithenor found the medical wing and walked in, keeping his dragon against his chest for now. He was rather surprised to be met by a red and white dragon. "Good afternoon?"

Blade looked around Tithenor at the dragon. "Uh, hi. We were wondering if we could visit Pat. He's a friend of ours who was hurt earlier and came here..."

The dragon flicked his tail a few times, wise eyes blinking from Tithenor to Blade to Mark and back to Tithenor. Then he turned and started through the ward toward a room in the back where Pat was isolated. He stopped and chirped at his rider.
53 smiled as he came over. "Hello, are you here for Pat?"

Mark nodded. "Yes. He is the fourth member of our team, and our friend."

"Good, it will do Pat good to have visitors," 53 smiled. "However, the poison from the spiders do a lot of damage to a young body, even just one let alone eight, so be calm and do not stress my patient. Understand?"
"Of course," Tithenor agreed for them all.
"Good. Go on in," 53 said, stepping aside for them.

Blade and Mark agreed and walked back. Blade smiled when he saw Pat. "Hey, Pat."

Pat was as white as the sheets she lay on, the oversized hospital gown making her seem even smaller and frailer than she was, the blackness of her dragon's feathers making her look even whiter. Even so, she brightened when she saw the trio. "Hi," she whispered. "I'm sorry I let you guys down in the game."

Tithenor clicked his tongue and waved it off. "Nonsense. It has come to my attention that Blade is very good at hiding. We wasted all our time seeking him and his spiny companion."

Blade grinned. "Why, thank you. I find that a very prestigious compliment."

Mark chuckled. "Although watching Tithenor crawling on the ground before being tackled by a baby dragon had to be a highlight for me."

Blade laughed. "Yeah, me too. No offense man."

Pat giggled wheezily at that. "Tithenor got attacked? By who?"
Mark's Frillback sat up and gave a proud chirp. I did! I got the elf, oh yes I did!
That made Pat giggle harder until she was out of breath, imagining the dignified elf crawling on all fours only to be tackled by a tiny little dragon.
Tithenor brushed himself off in a stately manner. "It was for the dragon's benefit. To boost his moral."

Blade burst out laughing. "Sure it was! He surprised you and you know it!"

Mellon churred in agreement with Blade. He licked his wonderful rider's cheek. Mark's dragon may have tackled him, but he saved his rider!

"Perhaps, but then Mellon saved me most effectively," Tithenor said, stroking the dragon approvingly.

Mark's Frillback was bored. He crawled down onto Pat's bed and froze, uncertain on this soft, wobbly footing. He minced forward a couple steps, lifting his legs as high as he could.

Mark laughed a little as he watched his dragon.

Mellon puffed his chest up really proud when Tithenor mentioned his heroic deed!

Tithenor motioned to the bed. "/Do you wish to get down?/"

Blade's dragon watched the Frillback curiously. She leaned over, sniffing. What was going on with the ground to make him act like that?
The Frillback finally found steady ground on Pat's leg and steadied himself on her knee. Ha! There we go!
