Dragon Rider Play

[Dark Silence]

Blade smiled. "All right. We can wait a bit to make sure it gets all dead, okay?"

By the time Melloraumo was done, Tithenor's hair looked like he brushed it with a bur bush it was that spiky everywhere.

[SilentVoice]

Erika rubbed her head against his ankle, purring happily.  Thank you, Rider!  She would leave the fluffy for him so he could make it into furs for himself.

Tithenor sighed as he tried to straighten out his hair.  "Come.  We should return to the rookery and feed the dragons.  There is enough here for Nightshade and Warrior, should they desire it."  He gave up on the hair and stood.

[Dark Silence]

Blade laughed some. "Only if you want to, Erika." He turned to Tithenor. "I like the new look. Want me to carry some of the rabbits?"

Mellon purred and clambered to his rider's shoulder.

[SilentVoice]

"Thank you," Tithenor said deadpanned, handing over half of the rabbits.  "Melloraumo is very good."

Erika chirped and bounced as she held up her wings.  Pick her up, first?  She didn't want to walk all the way back.

[Dark Silence]

Blade laughed some and picked Erika up first before carrying the rabbits over one shoulder.

Mellon licked Tithenor's ear.

[SilentVoice]

Erika purred and climbed up to perch atop his head.  She liked the view from up here!

"Mellon!" Tithenor squawked, twisting his neck.

[Dark Silence]

Blade let her. She enjoyed it and he didn't mind.

Mellon purred affectionately. He nuzzled Tithenor and crooned at him. He made the funny noise!

[SilentVoice]

Tithenor pulled the dragon off his shoulder and held him upside down in the crook of his arm.  "/You are a mischevious little schemer, you are,/" he told Mellon with teasing firmness as they headed for the rookery.  "We must hurrty to make it to breakfast in time after feeding the dragons."

[Dark Silence]

Mellon squealed and kicked his feet in the air. This was fun!

Blade nodded. "Sounds good to me. Want breakfast, little lady?" He asked Erika.

[SilentVoice]

Tithenor just made a face at his dragon, not having any hands to tickle him.  "/Silly little thing.  It is a good thing you are cute./"

Erika chirped in agreement, flapping her wings excitedly.

[Dark Silence]

Melloraumo purred, and still kicked his feet. Of course he was!

Blade laughed. "Of course. You always seem to appreciate food. Like me, actually."

[SilentVoice]

Tithenor rolled his eyes.  "/You remind me of little children.  Messy and such a nescience, but too adorable to be angry with long./"

Erika purred and started playing with his hair.  The bridge distracted her, and she leaned over, chittering and keening at the birds below.

[Dark Silence]

Mellon just chirped happily and watched the world from being upside down.

Blade made sure she didn't fall as they crossed.

[SilentVoice]

Tithenor continued to babble to his dragon, teasing him gently.  He kept his voice down, falling silent when others came close.  At last, he reached the freezer and chose a rabbit to give Mellon, putting it in fur and all so his dragon could learn.  The rest he set aside for Pat and Mark.

Erika bounced in excitement as they neared the rookery.  Food!

Warrior lay in his cage, idly chewing his ball.

[Dark Silence]

Mark reached the rookery as Tithenor went to freeze Mellon's food. "/Good morning./" He said in elvish. It wasn't the best, but said well enough to be understood by most.

Blade laughed. "Which rabbit do you want?" He asked when they reached it. He didn't know which smelled or looked the best to her.

[SilentVoice]

"Alarinya," Tithenor returned the greeting.  "There are extra rabbits in the rookery if Warrior is interested in rabbits."

Erika went through the rabbits, nosing them aside as she searched for the perfect rabbit.  She picked one and ceased it by the ear, dragging it out.  This one!

[Dark Silence]

Mark nodded and thanked him before going to Warrior. "Morning Warrior! Hungry for rabbit for breakfast?"

Blade smiled. "Can you get it there yourself or do you want my help?"

[SilentVoice]

Warrior perked up at the sound of his Rider's voice and went ballistic.  He dropped his well-chewed ball and started running in circles, squealing excitedly and springboarding off the walls of his cage in summersaults.

Erika considered and started dragging it herself.  It was almost as big as she was, but she could move it slowly.

[Dark Silence]

Blade let her. He wanted her to learn to be a little independant, and it always seemed to make food taste a little better if you worked some for it.

Mark laughed and opened the cage. "My my, you're energetic today. I made you a couple new toys as well. I'll show them to you after breakfast."

[SilentVoice]

Erika finally got her rabbit into her stall and dug in.  As always, she sliced open the belly and stuck herself inside.

Warrior leaped into Mark's arms, licking his face excitedly.  Hi, Rider!  He'd been bored without him!

Tithenor carried the rabbit into Mellon's stall and set it down.  As usual, he told Mellon to wait, but first told him where to sit.

[Dark Silence]

Blade smiled and watched her eat. He found another piece of wood and started to carve it.

Mark laughed. "I'm sorry you were so bored! Hopefully the new toys help that."

Melloraumo did as told. He was going to be the best dragon and make Tithenor the best and proudest rider ever!

[SilentVoice]

Erika happily chowed down on her rabbit until it was completely cleaned out on the inside.  She dragged the skin back to Blade.

Warrior purred, headbutting Mark gently.  That would be wonderful!

Tithenor had him hold the pose then released him.  "/Well done!  You have earned your breakfast./"

[Dark Silence]

Blade smiled and thanked her. He made sure the skin was clean before he prepared it to tan.

Mark smiled. "After your breakfast." He carried Warrior and a rabbit back to their stall and prepared it just how Warrior liked it. "Enjoy."

Melloraumo dove towards the meat and happily tore into it.

[SilentVoice]

Erika watched Blade proudly as he used her gift.

Tithenor moved toward Mark as their respective dragons gorged.  "Mark, have you, by any chance, seen Patrick and Nightshade?"

[Dark Silence]

Mark shook his head. "No. I thought he was with you."

Blade smiled. "Once it dries out and becomes leathery, I can use it. But rabbit fur is nice to use because it's soft and warm."
