DT Serum, Primary Testing In Progress

"Well, you still must have done something right to have kept her interest." Ashton insisted stubbornly.

"Beats the hell outta me," Lex said flatly.  "I wasn't looking for a girl.  She started it."

Ashton laughed a little. "Are you complaining though?"

"Nope," Lex said.  "Can't say that I am."

Ashton laughed a little softly. "She seems to at least try to take good care of you... by cuddling you and making you fat and happy."

"Way too fat," Lex grumbled, patting his belly.  "I don't know why she wants to take care of me, but it makes her happy."

Ashton merely shrugged. "As long as you're happy too, I don't see a problem with it."

Lex glanced at him.  "You'll be happy, too, Ashton.  You'll see.  Give it time."
"I found them!" Geena said as she came out bearing a carefully wrapped bundle.  "The perfect bouquet.  Thank you, Ashton, this was a marvelous suggestion."

Ashton nodded to both Lex and Geena in turn. "Off to Paul then?"

"Yes, off to get Paul," Geena approved, her eyes shining as she cradled the flowers tenderly.

Ashton didn't quite get why the flowers and the wedding was so important, but supposed he was happy that Geena was happy. Ashton trailed behind her and Lex, following them to the school.

Geena put a hand on Ashton's shoulder, smiling at him gently as she turned to watch for Paul.  True arrived soon after them with Bitty Kitty on his lap and Shuni following closely.

As per usual, Paul was released from school and came to meet them, smiling. "Mommy!" He said and happily and gave Geena a hug first.

"Paul!" Geena crowed, leaning down to hug him tightly.  "How was your day?"

Paul smiled and told Geena all about it, getting a painting he made of her in class out of his bag and giving it to her with the biggest grin.

Geena kissed his cheek gratefully.  "Thank you, dear."

Paul beamed, so happy Geena was happy.

True presented the mewling Bitty Kitty then scooped Paul into his lap.  Lex ruffled his hair and moved off a bit as they started toward home, Geena chatting with Paul about school.

Paul grinned, nothing but happy at his current situation. He was spending time with True while petting Bitty Kitty and talking with his mom.... to the first grader, this was just the coolest.

"Where's Paul and Dad?" Lex realized with a slight frown.

(Paul is with them, so I am going to guess you meant Sam?)
Ashton pondered that for a moment. "Maybe they're at the lab?"

(Yep.)
"Weird.  They always come," Lex frowned.  "If they aren't home, I'm going to go check on them."
Geena paid them no mind, fussing over Paul and Shuni equally.

"Fair enough." Ashton said, following everyone back. He felt a bit detached from everyone again.

Paul adored having his mother's attentions, and gladly talked to her about any and everything she wanted to talk about.

Geena glanced over her shoulder, smiling a little at Ashton.  "Are you alright, dear?"

"Huh?" Ashton looked up. "Oh, uh, yeah. I'm fine."
