DT Serum, Primary Testing In Progress

Gaster didn't pay any mind to it and soon fell asleep. He needed it, and snored softly as he napped.

After a while, Tesla came up and curled up at Gaster's chest.

The doctor was sound asleep for a few hours, but when he woke and saw the cat, he gently pet Tesla, enjoying the simple comfort of laying in bed for a few moments longer.

Tesla started purring, his ear flicking.

Lex had fallen asleep in the park while eating ice cream and lay in the grass, head on Layla's lap, snoring peacefully.  His body was still recovering and would be for some time, meaning he had little energy to spare whether he wanted to or not.

Layla didn't mind at all. She contently played with Lex's hair some as she looked around her and people watched with Ashton, making light small talk about nothing at all.

A leaf fell on Lex's nose.  He sneezed, waking himself up.  "Huh?" he asked blurrily, staring around  Where, what, and who?

Layla laughed a little. "Morning, Lex. Sleep well?"

"Yes.  Wait, is it morning?" Lex asked, startled.  Gaster was going to kill him for disappearing all day and night.

Layla laughed. "No, I was just saying that because you were sleeping. It's closer to three though."

"Oh," Lex said in relief.  "We need to get home."  He stood with a soft grunt then offered her a hand up.

Layla smiled and accepted the help, thanking Lex. "Are you excited to be home?"

Lex thought about that a moment.  "Yes," he decided.  "What about you, Ash?"

"Can we just get home already?" Ahston asked in response. He very much wanted to get home and sleep finally.
Layla laughed a little. "I will admit I was even getting a little tired of the lab."

"No kidding," Lex grumbled.  He gave Ashton a playful shove as he walked passed toward home.  "And yes, we can go home."

Ashton laughed and fell in step beside Lex, and Layla on Lex's other side. "Thank god for that!" Ashton exclaimed.

Lex smirked at him.  "Amen to that.  Preach it brother!" he said in his best church-goer voice.  Guessing based off movies.

Ashton and Layla both seemed to find it funny, and Layla smiled. When they got part way home, there were a few guys walking in the opposite direction that, when she saw them, Layla walked a little closer to Lex. until they were past.

"Who were they?" Lex asked in a neutral tone.

"Remember that gang I told you about?" Layla told Lex softly. "They were from the same one..."

"The one that hurt you?" Lex asked softly just to clarify.

Layla nodded a bit. "Yeah.... I, ah, supposedly owe them a lot of money...."

"Supposedly?" Lex asked, stopping and turning to face her.  "What's the story?  All of it."

Layla looked down, and confessed to Lex that they got her originally hooked on the hard drugs, and then while she was high and out of it, had her "buy" more with a tab system, and now they wanted her to pay it back. All of it.

Lex shrugged.  "Okay then.  Ashton, stay with her.  Lays, stay."  He turned, hands in his pockets, and sauntered toward the group.  "Oi!  Slow up, mates!" he called in a slow Brittish drawl.

Layla frowned and tried to catch Lex's arm. "Lex, wait! Please, at least wait until you recover more!" Ashton, the ever faithful and right hand he was, put a secure arm around Layla to stop her from following Lex.

The guys turned to look at Lex. "And who the fu- are you?" One asked in a vaguely Australian accent. There was three of them, probably concealing weapons since they were out on the streets.
